Was in Miami and searched for place to play in area on Golf Now and got tee time for great rate at Emerald Hills. The course has a great layout and was in really good shape. For a Saturday the pace was enjoyable and felt like I was at a private country club. The location was easy to get to, had a great time. Whenever I get back to FLA I will definitely play there again.

This is a well known respected course around here.

The restaurant, clubhouse, locker room etc are all first class. I am only able to play this course during the summer due to pricing and I look forward to playing it, but......disappointed for some very simple but important issues. First, course was empty. We teed off early as a twosome, saw very few people all day. But this is Florida in August. There was no ice water available. Yes, there was a cooler with cups by the starter, but the water wasnt cold, no ice, no tops for the cups so water gets bounced out pretty early. There was absolutely no water anywhere on the course. Even at the one or two bathroom stops, no water fountains at all. No cart girl either, which I can understand with no one on the course, but this is extremely important when heat index is 105. Course condition just ok. Nothing spectacular. Fairways good, but not great. Greens ok, but not special. Rough was very rough, hard to find balls. The course layout itself is a challenging but fun course to play as no two holes are the same. I enjoy the course layout, just too hot and thirsty to really enjoy the round. Cmon EH, your too good for this. These are easy things to fix for those who play this well known special course.

I have played Emerald Hills a couple of times, and it is pretty good value - although make sure you book a time online, even if (like me) you are just playing a twilight single. The price is much higher if you just walk in, which I haven't experienced anywhere else.

The course is well laid out, and there are a couple of stretches of holes (5-7, 12-15, 18) that are very memorable. The rest of the holes are good too - except 4, which is pretty silly. Greens are usually pretty good (they had just been aerated when I played the second time), but the tees are pretty woolly. Fairways are ok but always seem to be soft, so the course plays longer than the yardage suggests - don't be tempted to try it off those emerald tees!!

Can be quieter than other nearby courses, which is nice for a quick game. But as others have reported, it is poor that there is nowhere to fill a water bottle on the course.

Had the opportunity to play here for an amazing hot deal. This course is very challenging; on your best best day as a 15 hcp add 10 strokes...no joke. Otherwise great staff, very clean course and clubhouse. I will be back for revenge.

Simple - roll your greens from 18-1 or let your players out on the back 9 and roll from 1-18. Seems like a simple solution to make your reviews better. Instead as a once a year visitor Florida, I'll find another of the 100's of choices to play, and happily pay more for better greens. We were followed by the green roller from 1-4, finally on 5 we said, go ahead and roll this one quickly and we'll let you get ahead of us. "No, I can't go as fast as you." Ok then, how bout you go to 18 and start rolling in reverse order? 'No, Im not allowed." At the turn we pleaded with the starter to a "What it does it matter, the greens are the same either way." Can you please ask him to start rolling the back, and maybe we could play 3-4 greens in their best condition? "No" "That's how he does it". Bummer!!!! I wouldn't care either if I hadn't got to play the 4th green which had been 1/2 rolled. So I putted from one side full of water, debris, bumps and divots from weekend play, to the other side which was 50% faster, very true, debris free, dry, and smooth. That's the memory I left with, still can't figure out the simple lack of logic and disdain for customers who tee off at 7:30 AM on a summer morning to avoid the worst hear.

Greens are as good as you want to play, but the rest of the course leaves a lot to be desired. Fairways were not cut, tees and fringes appeared to have no water in some time. Good layout, and the back has much more character than the front. Played in the afternoon and the bar/restaurant was closed by 4:00.

One word: overpriced. This is a $39 course tops. No idea why the rate for non residents is $90. I learned the hard way and wouldn't want anyone else to make the same mistake I made in choosing to play here. Nothing exciting or memorable about this old course. Save your money and time and play somewhere else.

I played Emerald Hills on a spring break trip to Florida. I was able to get a hot deal tee time and used a GolfNow reward to drop the price. If I had paid the full price on GolfNow I would have been disappointed. Course conditions were pretty good. I played as a single behind a twosome and ahead of a foursome. I did play through a foursome.

There are some very nice holes on this course with water. Course is long and that makes it more of a challenge, but fairways are generous and the course is very playable.

Staff was okay, not overly friendly and not very helpful. Just pay and off you go. I was supposed to play with a twosome that went out early. The starter told me that my twosome had just left, but I wanted to hit some balls. He should have told me that if I went to the range, I would be stuck behind a foursome. So, I had to wait for them and finally got the opportunity to play through.

Range has complimentary range balls, only fair considering the price.

All in all a decent golf course, but a little pricey for what you get.

I'm running out of superlatives. I used to say I didn't like FL golf (prefer mtns and desert) but I keep finding one great course after another here in So. Fl. Emerald Hills old private club that now accepts public play due to changing times. Used to be a PGA stop. Unlike a lot of old FL courses I have played, which tend to be a little shorter, tips here are 7800 and change. I played the members tees 6200 which was plenty for my game.

It's a real shame the new owners of the course have le the condition deteriorate from its past glory. The greens are generally playable and in nice condition but have patches of very poor quality. The fairways and tee areas are the areas that have slipped the most. This used to be a fantastic and beautifully kept course to play, but the tee and fairways conditions do not warrant the high green fee prices.

The design and layout are still excellent and the variety of shot selection is great - just wish it was kept in better condition.

This is a really good course. The greens have a lot of undulation and were in pretty good shape. The fairways are nice and it's simply a beautiful track. A nice array of par 3s and when it's windy, you had better adjust. I write this after EH and Mother Nature gave us a good butt-kicking. Really is worth the premium price.
