Kids all over the course
The greens were so slow, almost impossible to find the bottom of the cup. That being said, my Wife and I had a 6:08 tee time what should have been the second group to tee off but supprisly the pro shop wasn't open when we got there around 5:45 am. When the pro shop opened two groups of golfers checked in before us and headed to the first tee box. The six-some, yes a six-some, three children and three adults, allowed us (even though they had a 7:00 tee time) to play through them because they were going to be playing slow. By the second tee box the three adults allowed the children to play ahead of them which means these kids, ages from 10-14 years old played right up on the two of us. A couple of holes they drove past us since they where using the red and gold tee boxes and we were using white. They had a radio they would play while we where teeing off and then by the 12th hole they started chasing each other all over the fairways with the carts, all while the adults were two to three holes behind. I guess this course doesn't use marshals or ambassadors to regulate golfers. Kinda made for an aggravating round of golf, if it was wasn't for this the day would have been pretty good.
Pace of play poor
Need Marshall to improve pace of play. Took 5 hrs to play due to groups not keeping up, searching for golf balls in ponds and ignoring waiting groups behind them. Called clubhouse and were told no one could come out and get the group holding up play to move up in vacate the course. Ruins enjoyment of the game when no one cares to fix the problem. Cost of tee times has gone up every year with less care as to how those paying these rates are treated
Thank you the 5-Star Rating! We look forward to having you back soon at Cimarron Golf Club - Boulder Course
5 hour rounds
If you want to start 15 to 20 minutes after your tee time and take 5 hours to play after you start, this place is for you. We played there 5 times this year January to March 2024, was always 15 plus minutes behind. The first 3,rounds took 4:40 the last 2 took 5 hours. The only reason we went back the last time was because of a hot deal, plus I want to give them a last chance before I never play there again. No luck 5 hours.
Was told by the pro shop that they considered the course to be a resort course and 5 hours is not unusual for a resort course. So if you like 4:45 to 5:00 hour rounds, this place is for you.
Thank you the 5-Star Rating! We look forward to having you back soon at Cimarron Golf Club - Boulder Course

Need more Carts!
They don’t have enough carts. We had to wait 45 minutes at the bag drop for our cart. Which made us start 20 minutes past our time tee. We were able to catch up with the group in front of us, but then waited at every tee box.
With that said the course was nice and we would play it again. It would be good if they got more carts.
Slow pace
Wish the marshals had been out on course. Group in front of us definitely slowed us down when we started the back 9 there was 3 open holes in front of them and they were not interested in letting us play through.
Thank you the 5-Star Rating! We look forward to having you back soon at Cimarron Golf Club - Boulder Course
Overbooked
Mini golf tournament ahead of booked tee times caused excessive delays in getting started and the parking lot was overfilled - no parking spots. Vsilzz as be.
4 out of 5
Pretty good course overall for a fair price. 3 or 4 holes play over water wash which is not a factor unless you get heavy rains. I would play this course again, it is wide open with no protection from winds.
Bad experience here on a Saturday that could have been avoided
I’ve played before and had expectations for a decent on and off course experience but this was not that.
All of the issues could have been avoided with decent management and/or training of staff and scheduling.
It turned out they put a junior tournament on the course that day but no one informed us of that or the fact that they were running 30-35 mins behind the tee time schedule until 5 minutes before our tee time. We had been there an hour ahead, hit plenty of balls, putted, etc and were all warmed up to find this out. No compensation and no apologies but a lot of frustrated and angry golfers. Why put kids who are walking and going to take 5 hours to finish out there and not tell any of the paying customers in advance? And they shut the kitchen/bar area down for an event so no where to wait it out inside on a cold day. Also they failed to mention there are no bathrooms on the course. I brought a golfer here for his first time and no way will he or anyone he knows be back. It’s just unprofessional.
Typical Public Course
Overbooked with long delayed start time. They had a large tournament in the morning and not advised at booking, otherwise we would have gone elsewhere.
Greens in poor condition, covered with unprepared ball marks. Many sandtraps not raked, fairways not too had. Overall a fun course layout if properly maintained.
Old golfcarts, but we're told new ones arriving "next week".
Good Course Good Value
This was the second time we played thus course. Seemed to have improved since the first time. Some small greens but otherwise good layout and fun to play. Only problem was waiting for a cart. The course obviously needs a few more carts.
It was windy and the course follows along a wash area that has exposed sand. The wind was strong enough to make visibility poor and uncomfortable to stand in. If it's not windy the course is good, wide fairways and the greens are in excellent shape.
Over priced
We paid $130 to play which is around 170 CDN. This is way over priced in my opinion Course layout is good but overall conditions not good. If you hit your ball into any of the waste areas forget about hitting it out Full of rocks and gravel. These areas should be playable. They need to be be cleaned out. Sand traps are no different Full of rocks and rock hard sand. Fairways and greens average at best. Very few ball washers The few that there were are dry and dirty Had to wash clubs in the ice bucket for drinks they provided. Nice! This is an $80 course in my world.
Thank you so much for leaving us with your feedback. We value our customer experience, so your review is important to us. Please know the current conditions are by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We will continue to work towards a 5-star experience and we hope to see you back!

Good value, not a bad course
We played Cimarron recently, we liked everything but the bunkers. The bunkers were like concrete. Other than that, it was a great experience.
Thank you so much for leaving us with your feedback. We value our customer experience, so your review is important to us. We will make note and we hope to see you back at Cimarron Golf Club - Boulder Course!
Thank you for playing Cimarron and also for leaving your feedback. I am sorry you have had such a negative experience at our course and I will discuss your review with our General Manager.
This time of year, we do not regularly staff marshalls because it is typically very slow. Please feel free to call the pro shop during your round if you have any issues on the course.
In addition, our greens may be a little bit longer than normal because of the extreme heat (110+) we have had in recent weeks. We have had several neighboring courses lose their greens in the last few weeks so we are keeping our greens a little longer than normal to ensure that they do not die on us.
We hope you will come back and try Cimarron when we are in season. The course is usually in terrific shape and we offer one of the best values in the desert.
