Goat Track!!!
We played at 7:45 in the morning, which is a premium tee time, do NOT waste your money. Course is in horrible condition, fairways are under repair and the greens were absolutely atrocious. I have played municipal courses at home with better conditions. Good luck, I would not pay more than $65 for this course right now.
Course condition is slipping
While this is a beautiful course location and I enjoyed our round there is definitely room for improvement.
While the people in the office were very friendly, the starter was busy giving golf tips to a woman one the driving range and was clueless as to what was happeningon the course. For example, he held us up because he said a foursome had just gone out and walked away. After waiting for another 5 minutes I walked over to where he was talking with the women and asked if we could go to the 1st tee. He said OK, but when we got there we found there was another couple on the tee that we were supposed to be paired with. We were both surprised since the starter had not bothered to inform either couple that we were a foursome.
All four players in our group agreed that the course conditions have deteriorated. Examples here include only about 1/4 inch of sand and liner showing in many bunkers; greens appeared scored and very rough; and some fairways were burned out in spots.
There was no Marshall and pace of play was a little slow on the front nine, but picked up on the back where some players ahead of us dropped out after playing 9. There was also no refreshment cart, but we were provided bottles of water and ice with the golf cart. There is no GPS on the carts so bring your own if you use one.
All in all, we met some great people to play with and had a fun round, but all of us were a little disappointed that the course is not what it once was.
Amazing beach course and views
The course was amazing but the wind was very tough to deal with!
Windy but Fun
Nice course with beautiful ocean views. unfortunately it was extremely windy the day we played, couldn't wear a hat because it kept flying off. It was expensive to play, most golf courses in Hawaii are. Course was in good shape and the staff were all friendly and helpful.
No wind
Good day at this course - no wind -sunny - right at 4 hours - all ended up being good

Overall nice layout, great views. Would suggest a cart person to o be a little more available.
This course needs a Marshall!
This course was fun but I had to miss 2 holes due to pace of play. Seriously, there were three groups I had to pass through. First group was the group I got teamed with as a single. They were totally non-golfers who didn’t know how to golf nor did they understand golf etiquette. They all tee’d off from the blue tees and took several mulligans. After they spent over 10 minutes looking for their multiple tee shots, I left them after one hole. Second group I came upon were a family of 4 who were also beginners. I followed them for 2 holes until they waved me through. The 3rd group were a group of EIGHT guys with loud music playing and who were obviously beginners. I asked them if I could play through and they were kind enough to let me through. For a resort course that charges what they charge, I seriously expected a Marshall out their monitoring pace of play. This experience was the most egregious example of poor course management. I really did love the course layout but it needs a lot of love. Sadly, I won’t be recommending this course to anyone.
First Time visiting from Massachusetts
My first time playing golf on the Big Island. Played Waikoloa Kings and Beach nines and enjoyed the layout and overall course. There was a refreshment cart on the course during play. Good value for the money. Greens were a bit slow as compared to Hapuna and Mauna Kea. Food at the bar was excellent and order a Mulligan for $10.00 (a shot and beer). Would play again but found conditions and course challenge at the other two courses more exciting.
Played King/Lakes combo. Can not use SkyCaddie to get distances. Very frustrating.
Continuing its slow decline - too bad
I've been playing the Beach and Kings courses for 25+ years, and while I really love the layout, it's sad to see these two fine courses in such poor shape. This has nothing to do with the pandemic, it's been declining years before that. Fairways are spotty and dry, greens are super slow and irregular, sand traps are thin with lots of lava chunks that will ruin your wedge, cart path asphalt buckling, carts are worn, no GPS,...I could go on, but let's just say this is a wonderful Hawaii resort course with muni-like conditions. The grounds crew, starter, and cart staff are super-friendly, the pro-shop is well stocked but the staff are rude and disinterested to their customers. They shut down 9 holes of the Kings course after covid so it's now a 27 hole layout that could be fun IF they ever get the conditions back to what it used to be...I keep hoping but suggest avoiding until it improves when you have Hapuna, Mauna Kea, and Mauna Lani near by that are FAR superior to Waikoloa and in the same/similar price range (hawaii rates).
Beautiful
Ocean view, lava rough, tunnel under a parkway, and a challenging layout all make a unique and fun golfing experience.
Happy vacation golf
Beach Golf delivers good golf entertainment. Good times!
Good layout
Played the Beach/Kings course. Only #6 on the Beach nine was along the ocean, but still a fun layout. Greens were a little rough and slow.
Kings was also a good layout, with nicer greens. Of course I will remember the Kings, since I had an ace on #3!.
Both courses have pretty generous fairways, so the lava is not in play, except for errant tee shots.
Overall, a nice course, with good amenities and excellent staff!
Washroom closed/no warning
Great course buttttt- would have been nice to know the mens+womens washroom were out of service!!
Limited “outside options.”
Clubhouse staff was not aware apparently.
