Eagle Vines Golf Club
About
Eagle Vines Vineyards & Golf Club is tucked away in the foothills of Napa Valley, offering one of the most scenic courses in the area. It is also considered by many locals to be one of the most challenging. Every hole on the golf course provides stunning views of the surrounding vineyards. The layout sprawls across gently rolling hills that weave through stands of mature cherry and oak trees, shimmering waterfalls, and meandering creeks. The golf course offers challenging multi-tiered greens and postage-stamp landing areas that demand well placed iron shots. The memorable seventh hole features an even more difficult island green. There are also some tricky fairways that seem much more open than they are. Eagle Vines numerous risk-reward opportunities that will have golfers using every club in their bag.

Slowest round, poorly maintained course
This course is filled with retirees who now have decided to pick up golf as a hobby. They move at a snails place, hack up the fairways, and take about 5 practice swings each. I made the mistake of coming out to this course while on vacation in the Napa valley. Wrong decision. I had to quit after the 14th hole because the pace of play put us at over 6 hours!!! On top of that, the greens were SLOW and bumpy. Putts were not rolling true, and there were so many fairway divots that I had to hit my call out of. I'm not a great golfer by any means, but if I am getting ooohs and ahhhhs for hitting a 250 yard drive, and the bunkers haven't been groomed since the beginning of th season, we have a problem here. If you are a mid-70's retiree who is looking towards golf being a hobby to kill time, then this is the course for you. On the other hand, for those golfers who are used to private well-groomed courses, shoot under 100, and expect to finish in a reasonable time, I would avoid this course. I will never play here again.
Decent shape , but could be a lot better
Green were decent , fairways were really wet from overwatering, very hard to find your ball if you get into trouble with a lot of overgrown vegetation. Tee boxes were in rough shape.
The conditions used to be a lot better. Hoping this course can get back.
Where is the water fountain?
Just wanted to point out that this course has zero water fountains/ water coolers on the course or anywhere at the facilities. I was very thirsty after a round of golf and no water to be found on the course, and was very disappointed to not find any water fountains as I left. I get it that they are trying to make a buck to sell me water, but come on. It’s relatively inexpensive to offer some kind of free water especially on a close where the t gets very hot. Long story short….make sure to pack plenty of water before you play!
It was very slow play and we had to wait 5 minutes on every tee so not good. Ended up playing only 13 holes as it was so slow
Great day t/b on the links...
Excellent greens!!! Loved the "Island" hole too...
7 hour pace & no marshalls
No marshalls, no starter, no attempt by management to mitigate slow play.
Expectb7+ hour rounds everytime.
Not going back.
We apologize for the inconvenience experienced due to the lack of marshals and the slow pace of play. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we hope to improve your experience in the future.
Wet/Windy day
Due to horrible weather conditions we only played 9, so if a raincheck for 1-18 round would be available that would be appreciated.
Quite challenging course
This is a lengthy golf course. There are pretty much sand bunkers guarding the greens. Some water hazards are in place. This is a challenging course.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We're glad you found our course challenging and hope to see you back for more.
Really enjoy the course
I've always had a great time playing Eagle Vines. Course if in good condition, and every hole is different and challenging in a different way.
The pro shop staff have always been rude when you come with a pre-paid tee time. That is the one thing I would change out. The starters are the nicest guys there, and the pro shop guys are just rude.
Thank you for your kind words about the course and starters, and we sincerely apologize for your experience with the pro shop staff.
Nice course slow play
Great layout. Course, has some difficult holes Which translates to slower play
Clubhouse closes too early.
Going down hill
Not sure what’s going on with Eagle Vines. I know they invested a lot of money (past couple years) into the course such as all the bunkers were significantly improved and a couple years back hole 14 (par 3) was under construction with running water and rock stream. I play this course 6-10 times a year, yet it’s in pretty bad shape. Course management needs to walk the tee boxes and greens, simple improvements to ball wash, tee box markers, tee box maintenance and tee location to name a few. Still one of my favorite courses, but needs some care.
We appreciate your honest feedback and commitment to playing at Eagle Vines so frequently. Rest assured, we are on it and committed to making the necessary improvements to ensure our course meets your expectations.
Eagle Vines
The course has a fun layout which is visually appealing! We started on hole 9 ???? And I wasn’t a fan of that hole since it was our first time there! Blind hole ! Greens were aerated probably a couple of weeks before and were still not fully recovered. Enjoyed the round and would definitely return.
Eagle Vines
Course has a fun layout, plays a little long maybe for some. Greens were in good shape, overall a solid course.
Eagle Vines is Starting to Shine
Eagle Vines use to be my favorite course but conditions got so bad I moved to another course. Well I had the privilege of playing Eagle Vines today and holy smokes, what the heck is going on here! I was shocked at what looked like what the golf course use to look like from back in its heyday days. The course looked and played amazingly from hole to hole. Although the greens were aerated recently, the putts were not affected as each green rolled true and fast. The new greenside bunkers looked absolutely amazing with its white sand against the emerald green grass of the golf course. I could see numerous improvements throughout the golf course it was everywhere. I don't normally write reviews but I was so impressed with the course conditions compared to just last spring I wanted to say that Eagle Vines became my new favorite course. Good job to all!
Hello,
I am disappointed to see you did not enjoy your vacation round with us. We truly do our best to ensure that everyone has a pleasant experience at our facility. We do employ starters and golf course ambassadors to maintain a steady pace of play. During this time of year we have a lot of family members in town enjoying time with their loved ones. Many players were most likely unveiling their newest holiday gifts for a first time. Again, we apologize for your unpleasant experience.
