Burnt Pine Golf Club is the most revered of Sandestin Resort's four golf course offerings. Rees Jones designed the course and it is a perfect example of why he is such a respected course architect. The front nine wanders through the Emerald Coast's lush pine forests and wetlands while the back nine runs alongside the Choctawhatchee Bay, offering unique and stunning views on each. Rolling fairways and strategically placed bunkers characterize the challenging layout. Water is also a prominent feature, coming into play on 14 holes. The greens are medium in size but they are fast and undulating. Doing well on this golf course requires thoughtful strategy with each hole calling for a different approach. Burnt Pine consistently ranks as one of the best golf courses in Florida.

Sandestin's Private Gem

This is Sandestin's private course, but if you stay at the resort, you may be able to play it. Very well maintained and picturesque. The 14th hole may be the prettiest on the Panhandle, it's a par 3 over a marsh abutting the bay...just gorgeous. Find a way on, you'll enjoy it.

Very Beautiful Course

I have been down to San Destin around Feburary-March every year for the past 5 years. It is always a pleasure to get out on these courses around the Baytowne Warf. Burnt Pine is BY FAR my favorite. The course layout is great. There are many holes that make this course challenging, but the work that the crews put into this course show. It stays beautiful year around. If you get the chance to play here, do not pass it up!

Great course

This is a great course, fairways, bunkers and greens were all in great shape, even with excessive rain prier to our arrival.
The bunkers were well maintained with plenty of sand to work with. The greens were consistently fast and true, just the way I like them. There is plenty of landing area for well placed shots on this challenging course. I highly recommend a must play.

Wow what an opening tee shot!

I have competed in 160 tournaments across this great and beautiful land of ours, and that opening tee shot with a drawing 18 mph wind is as tough as I have encountered.

The rest of this course is very difficult, kind of caught me out a little as I expected the typical Florida challenges, but this design is as good as I have seen on those really tough courses......LOVED IT!

In our tournament, our flight is to be shooting between 88-92. Out of 25 players the best score on the day was *****97**** the average score was 104 there were only 4 players that broke 100.....

Really enjoyed this unexpected challenge, hope we go back would love to get another shot at it.

Tough but not Fair

I played the Burnt Pines on a second day of two day tournament and found it to be a very difficult course. The greens were in good condition and fast but bunkers and fairways did not measure up. There is water everywhere and many fairways and greens had false edges which ended up in water. I found this to be an excessive feature of this course and an unfair one, specially if you did not play this course before and have no caddy. To top it all, the staff at this course would not let us use the locker room facilities to take a shower and I had to get on a plain not smelling too nice. This left a bad taste in my mouth as well.

Challenging Track - great golf fun

Really enjoyed the challenge of a stroke-play tournament on this magnificent track. Course conditions were great, staff was friendly and helpful. Wind was tricky, but fair for everyone.

Great Course Conditions

I played this course in early March. The weather started as cold and windy but eventually got warmer as we played. The fairways and greens were in perfect condition. That being said, I believe this course is deceptively more challenging than most. Scoring requires precise approach shots and deft putting.
It’s a wonderful experience!

Challenging, but incredibly fun

Played in the Emerald Coast Golf AM Tour Event here.

First time playing the course and it was incredible. Greens rolled completely true with great speed. Fairways (when I was in them ha!) were gorgeous and really gave a lot of confidence.

Can't wait to play again

Hard and Challenging Course

Course was in excellent shape! Greens are very undulating and in great condition. Seems like every hole has some type of hazard condition whether its water (which appears to be present almost on every hole) or sand traps, out of bounds or marsh hazards. Would recommend this course to someone that wants to be challenged.

Great course for all skill levels

Whenever you get to sandestin you need to play this course. It’s always in great condition and the staff is friendly and helpful. The course presents a challenge with its many sand traps and undulating greens. It’s good for all skill levels with five different tee boxes on each hole.
It’s usually not very crowded and the members (and most guests) usually play at a good pace.
I try to play here at least once every time I’m at Sandestin.

Amazing

My wife and I played this course at 7am. They let non-members play before 8am and after 1pm. Course was in immaculate condition...greens had just been rolled as the club championship was starting later that day. I've played golf all my life (31 yrs old) and this was one of the most beautiful I've played. If you are vacationing down here, like we were, this is a must play. It was $175 per person so not cheap but worth every penny. Thanks, Burnt Pine, for a great outing!

The best of Florida panhandle

The course was in such perfect condition as if a pro tourney was about to play there. The course has so many amazing views and you feel totally secluded, but this course is about golfing perfection. The greens were rolled and cut to perfection and so true and fair, but not easy by any means. Every bunker was manicured to perfection and reasonable to play out of. There is plenty of tee boxes to choose from. We played the member tee boxes and that was plenty long enough, but had a lot more distance available for long hitters. The staff was incredible and made us feel like we were members.
