Golf on Lundi Gras
I play this course about twice a year. Mileage from my home (40 miles) and green fee price ($69) make it prohibitive for me to play anymore than that. On this occasion, there was a deep discount on the green fee so I took advantage even though the temperatures were in the upper 40s with winds blowing around 15 mph from the NNW. They had just started aerating the fairways so this made it less than ideal. Other than that, the greens were in good shape, especially after such a harsh winter.
Most of the time, this is one of the best courses I have played anywhere. The normal green fee is really a bargain for the quality of the golf course. I think it is every bit as good as TPC Louisiana, if not better. You get free range balls with your green fee, the food is good, there is a snack bar and restrooms near the 10th tee box so you don't have to go all the way back to the club house before starting the back nine. The course drains quickly after a hard rain so you don't have to worry about a wet course.
If I could afford it on a weekly basis and I lived a little closer, this would be my course of choice.
Always great.
Very nice layout with fast, smooth greens. A little waiting while playing but as to be expected on a nice day. I did notice a good bit of ball marks on the greens where people didn’t fix them. Besides that, the course is great as always.
Great course
Played this course many times and it’s always a pleasure to play a course that ran so well from the staff to the amenities this place is top notch every time I’ve played here.
Everything Was Perfect
Got a last second deal for $29 + tax. Not many golfers being a Wednesday early afternoon. Had the whole course to myself. Everything is so well kept from range to the pro shop to the course itself. Course is challenging from pro and gold tees.
Slowest round of golf
6+ hour round. Way overbooked. Tee times to close together. Didn’t have enough carts.
Beautiful course and super friendly
it is a gorgeous and massive course, im relatively new to golf and even as a beginner it is a great course, great condition, and beautiful greens hole 4 and 7 are stunning.
It seems a bit daunting since there's houses on the course so that can be daunting but really not that bad. other than that and wishing the cart came around more, it's great.
a note to beginners: I played twilight when i went and we were about the last ones on the course then and could take our time. played 9 holes just fine w a 3pm tee time
Continues to be the best course around
Played Carter several times now. The place is nearly perfect. This Saturday morning was slow due to so many playing, but had a good time anyway. The bar staff is fantastic and this is the first time I have eaten there.... Do yourself a favor and get a bacon turkey melt at the turn and go low on the back 9.
Best course for 250 miles (for less than $100)
This course is dang near immaculate. Beautiful course, beautiful scenery, beautiful homes. Carts are comfortable with gps, Bluetooth music, weather, etc. greens are true and FAST. Tee boxes and greens in great shape. Every hole is a new adventure. You’ll never get bored. Only negative is that the course is pretty spread out.
Tee time comes with 25 range balls
Very Nice Course
Very nice and well maintained course, staff was very nice and helpful. Definitely a course I enjoyed playing and will recommend to friends and family.
