Looks like becoming the best public course in the Nashville area.
Fairways great shape , new Tif-Eagle Bermuda greens rolling coming in great. Staff friendly. Great layout.
Indian Hills Golf Course
I drove up from Chattanooga to play with my two sons and a friend that live in middle Tennessee. Our tee time was at 11:39 so we arrived around 10:30 to hit a few. When we checked in we were told we couldn’t get our cart key until 11:30! Didn’t understand that so I asked the guy behind the counter. Gave some excuse about wanting to make sure they had enough carts available since old fort was closed down. Not sure what that had to do with us getting our cart so we could load up and get some drinks for the cooler since we couldn’t use outside coolers. 9 minutes to do all of that didn’t seem like enough time. The other guy from the office came out and said if we wanted to get drinks they would put them in a plastic bag with ice! So then we had to take the bag, drinks and ice and transfer to the cooler on the cart! So this is what we went through before we got on the course. By the way, the course was not crowded at all. I was even thinking we could tee off early but that didn’t happen. Once we got to the 2nd hole, a worker a cart started following us and was removing all tee markers. When ask why, he said they had to mow the tee boxes. Man nothing like getting to every tee box with a couple of mowers going on. Sometimes we even had to wait until they finished mowing. Crazy!!! The layout of a couple of holes have you driving back into folks teeing off or driving by the first green while folks are playing. Some greens were terrible and a lot of fairways bare with water washouts and no grass. The staff was not very friendly. Needless to say we won’t be back. Hopefully they hey get their act together but you know what they say about first impressions. Will be finding another course my next time over!
Course is growing in fast
Fun course and much improved conditions. In a week or so as it warms up it'll be very green. Greens were in good shape other than one they are working on. (they have another green in use) Definitely call ahead for a tee time especially with Old Fort down until late in the year
Fair
Fair conditions. Restrooms out on the course not open. This course has lots of houses and out of bounds. Some rough areas. We had a fun experience. Slow play on weekends expected.
Bad
This course is not worth the money. Tee boxes are all chewed up, majority of the greens are horrible. Caerts are on electronic guidance, not any good , they shut down in middle of cart path.. The staff sure don't believe in working with people. ,they will leave you hanging. This course is unbelievable for the, 60.00 for shifty golf course for the money.. Greens and tees are not care for not aerator or sanded last fall.
Indian Hills
Fun course and great value. Only gripe would be the bathrooms always being locked.
Changes
Indian Hills has implemented changes on and off the course. The course is looking much better than it has in the past, with brush clearing and tree removal. The course is also undergoing some procedural changes that is encouraging. They now have a starter station that better facilitates golfers to the tee box for their tee time. I look forward to seeing how the course looks and plays during the summer.
Indian hills
At least this time the cart didn’t bing the entire round stating cart was out of bounds, return to cart path. The issue was the greens had been aeriated and were in horrid shape on front nine without any information passed on to customer when making tee time online or checking in. Greens were at best 2 putt greens and all 18 were so hard you could drop an anvil from 10000 feet and not make a divot….
I enjoy this course and play regularly but that should of been related to customer for 56.00 dollars a round
course review
Nothing wrong with the course, just need the grass to grow fairways need grass.
Carts GPS
Entire round spent hearing cart beeping that cart is out of bounds. Cart shut down a few times and this was a cart path only day. Played a week before and cart did same thing, so that issue isn’t fixed yet!
Getting better
IHGC is getting better and better! The course is dormant now but the grounds crew are keeping it very playable. Green are good and roll at a good pace. The staff is very friendly and try to accommodate every request. Well worth the rate you pay and is getting more crowded each time I’m there.
Avid Golfer
Nice course, too many houses on the fairways...and was like playing in a swamp because it was so wet. Nice course though.
Good Course, slow pace of play
I played recently and the round took just over 5 hours. We were waiting at every hole to tee off, and ran into the group in front waiting to tee off multiple times as well.
If they didn’t overbook it would be great, solid course other than that.
First timer
Keep in mind it is winter on Bermuda fairways and rough so for that they were in good shape. Bunkers were excellent as were the greens. Will definitely play this course again when I’m in town it’s worth the price. The people were very friendly and helpful thanks again.
Club House Customer Service.
Significant Staff improvements behind the desk. On par with other golf courses in the area.
Sim Room
I played 18 holes in the Sim Room because I was pressed for time. I got in 18 holes in 1:15
The full swing simulator was very nice and accurate. It didn't have any lag or buffering.
