This Course Has Great Potential
Patriots Glen has a lot of work to do, but if and when they get their work done, the course will be definitely one to add to your list. The front 9 fairways are tree lined and narrow which require accurate drives. Many of the teeboxes, fairways and greens on the front 9 need to be reseeded due to patches and burnouts. It was difficult putting on the greens due to the patchiness; so many times you had to move your ball to avoid the issues.
The back 9 holes were in a little better shape with fewer patches on the fairways and greens. The fairways were a little wider, but more challenging because of their length. The 17th hole is one of the hardest I've played this year due to the water running along the fairway and up towards the green.
Patriots Glen can be an excellent course if they put their time and money into improving the health of the fairways and greens. The layout is definitely challenging to all levels, but until they make the improvements, it is not worth the drive.
Great course for the money
A course that is actually cost rated appropriately. Not the nicest course by any means but very solid and in nice condition. Greens were better than most 90$ courses around.
Good course unfriendly staff
Nothing wrong with the course but we booked on GolfNow and got there early. When we checked in, they said we could not have a cart key until five minutes before our tee time. No problem with that but we wanted to drive to the practice area since we were 35 minutes early and they refused the key. By the way, no one was on the first tee.
Rude staff in pro shop.
He said he didn’t trust us to take a golf cart to the practice green. He thought we might start our round before our tee time. I think somebody must have peaed on his Wheatles that morning. He was very rude. I won’t be back. I’ll spread the news. Dry unfriendly.
Much Improved
This course was nice, then a dump, and it is returning to its former glory. New owners are definitely investing in this course. The greens are among the nicest in the area, very very good condition. Tee boxes and fairways are still recovering. The course has a fun layout that I’ve always enjoyed, a lot of fun holes. The staff is very friendly and happy to be working there. Brand new golf carts! Oh, the bar area is great, and the food is very good.
Play it this summer 2024!
Greens are new and beautiful! A lot of sod, bunker and driving range work will make this a mist play this summer. A couple challenging, but shorter par 3's and a short par 4 helps keep the score down. Fairways are wider bit have aim challenges as well. Very friendly and helpful staff and a great restaurant pub inside. Best dang hot dog roll I ever had! Go play it!
fantastic greens, decent shape
Been awhile since I played here, but greens were in great shape, rolled great and course overall was in better shape than recent years. You can tell they are focusing on improving their reputation.
Unfortunately, foursomes wouldn’t let a twosome play though and players were being a-holes and not replacing ball marks on greens. My new friend and I were repairing at least three additional ball marks on every green.
Really loved the GolfBoards, but understand something new is coming this Spring. Looking forward to playing again and then grabbing crabs for after!
Always a good time!
The course was in much better shape this time for us! Although the last time we played it was still the “offseason” so that’s why! The brand new carts are SWEET and the GPS system that comes with them are very nice. All in all, I love playing this course and will definitely be back!
