About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business.
Cypress Creek Country Club in Boynton Beach offers classic Florida golf. The course is mostly open and it features wide, player-friendly fairways. The layout is notable for being Robert Von Hagge's first design. It is a traditional layout that casual players will enjoy but it has challenges in store for the low handicapper as well. The par 3s are quite lengthy and there are water hazards coming into play on a few holes. There are also a number of strategically placed bunkers along the greensides. Five sets of tees make the course approachable for all skill levels. It is an excellent layout for tournaments or outings. In addition to the golf course, Cypress Creek also offers a driving range where golfers can get in some practice before starting the round.

HORRIBLE
Course condition was disgusting. Tees are a mess, fairways beat up and greens are about as bad as it gets. Called to make a reservation and they didn't reveal that the greens were "heavily" top dressed. It felt like we were hitting into sand traps with a flag stuck in the ground. I felt their behavior in concealing this was unethical and a lack of respect for their customers. Will never return to this cow pasture.
Decent layout
Although the course has a decent layout, it is always in
lackluster shape. The greens are in good condition but extremely slow. I believe the course is just getting by and spending as little as possible to keep the course in good condition.
Slowest greens on Earth
Not sure what is happening with this course, but they seemed understaffed, and careless. We loaded our own carts, and when it was time to go out, the starter disappeared. We just decided to head out anyway. The course wasn't in terrible shape, but the greens were absolutely horrible. You couldn't hit past the hole if you tried. I've never played on slower greens, and it took all of the fun out of our day. They were simply unputtable. At the end of our round, we unloaded our carts, and left. There wasn't anyone around to wipe clubs or offload the carts. The place was a ghost town. We are done with this course.
cypress creek update
We had hoped the course conditions would have improved, the greens certainly have but the rest of the is very poor. The round was cheap, so you only get what you pay for. I will try it again in a couple of years and hope there is improvement as the layout is good.
Grow some grass
This was a lovely course years ago. Would be today if it was fixed up. St. Augustine grass in fairways, bare spots everywhere. Greens encroached. Worth no more than $30 in high season.
poor entertainment
Extremely too expensive for the quality of course. For that kind of course, half price is enough for the area.
Challenging Course
I think the course plays long. Helps to be a long hitter have to hit over water to get to a few greens
Continuing to worsen
Little grass in fairways, greens like molasses, grumpy staff. They usually try to bring this course back after a summer of neglect, not this year.
Challenging course
I have played this course over the years, and it is not always in good shape, they struggle to keep their greens playable. This season, I played for the first time and the course is in pretty good shape, even if it suffered from the hurricanes. The greens, except for a few spots, are in a very good shape, and the fairways are fair. I will return this season.
Fit for Cows/Dogs/Geese
Fairways are bare in many spots, wet and muddy too. If one has never seen a nicely kept golf course then I imagine they'd think this one was ok. They are taking in money as the place was busy, but they are certainly not doing much of anything to improve conditions on the golf course. That said, once this was probably a decent track. Greens roll fairly and traps are ok, inconsitent amounts of sand but ok overall. Alot of hard spots in them that are hard to hit from. Tee boxes kind of weedy. Yardages are not close to being what is on scorecard or tee markers.
If you've gotta play, I guess this qualifies as golf. But it should be about 10-15 dollars less than the $30 per person we paid.
Great course. Challenging but fair. Easy to get to. The starter named Tom was the nicest man.
i feel cheated
only 9 holes were playable and we did not know that when we reserved the tee time
the fairways were in bad condition, greens ok
Surprisingly good!
Was invited by a cousin to fill in.Played 6300yds.
Nice layout! Dogs bith ways on most holes. The par3’s were a refreshingly long. Mblues were ~200yds.
With alot of TLC innthe ground maintenance, this place would be a gem!
Greens were slow but true.
Check Your Distances
Beautiful course , beautiful layout Just needs some TLC with the greens bunkers & fairways need better greens keeper. Also tee boxes are not what's on the card.. I spoke to one of the associates there & he told me that the USGA certified them 2 yrs ago! Really???They are so off from 35 to 55 yds. So the whites would be the green, The whites are the forward tees the blue tee box is the whites which is the middle. The whites is the blue tee box & the Blues are beyond championship. Let's get it right here Cypress, besides that it's a nice experience
IM-Pressed with CYpress
Cypress Creek was recommended to me by a neighbor and the course didn't disappoint. Some challenging holes and some water traps, but all in all, a good course to test your skills (or lack thereof...lol).
Would definitely go back.
Needs some Tender living care
A truly great layout that is very poorly maintained.. several areas on course are bare and the tees are in deplorable condition .the greens have showed some improvement but the entire layout needs redone people come for price once.
Greens aerated two weeks before
The course is nice and has a challenging layout however, the greens were aerated two weeks before I played. If I would have known this up front I may not have played the course because they were in terrible shape. The ball was bouncing all over the place and I practically need a 4 iron to putt on the greens.
Nice Course
I have played this course several times, nice course, the greens were a little beat up! I would still recommend.
I love this course! Offers a fun challenge. Golf all over but mostly here
