Our starting time was around 1 o'clock. not enough practice balls on the range. On hole #3, no drinking water and it was a humid and very hot day. The pace of play, very slow. It took us 5 hours!!!

The experience was great. Starter Jim was awesome above and beyond. Only thing I would change would be to tell pro shop guys to enjoy helping the customer! When taking 100 bucks from someone they should at least pretend to like them. The guys outside were friendlier then inside! Over all will def play there again

The course is a wide open layout. Condition was good. Greens are sloped and fast which is fine.

They run true. Problem was greens are new and and not very receptive. They say it should take a year to soften up. Overall an excellent course.

The course has undergone a redesign to accommodate the expansion of the hotel/convention center. It lost some good golf holes to progress. The new layout on the back has made for some interesting layouts, but they are not up to the resort course quality yet due to the recent roll out and lack of rain.

The greens were what you would expect for a Sunday afternoon/evening round (a bit shaggy and very grainy), but overall good.

The fairways seemed excessively hard packed compared to other courses played around Orlando in the past few weeks. I'm not sure if this is do to lack of rain or intended. But what you thought was a good shot bounced/rolled into trouble areas that seemed un-reachable.

Overall still a nice course, but we need some rain it seems to get it back to a resort quality round.

I would note that the folks in cart area and starter seemed like they were ready for the end of a busy weekend.

This is a very nice course that has just been redone. The fairway were in great shape and the greens are very challenging with numerous undulations. The greens were very hard to stick a shot due to their newness. Time will remedy that. Overall lots of fun to play

First time I played the course since the changes. Always loved the old layout. Very dissapointed in the changes. In my opinion the course is now several notches below the other choices available in market.

This was my first time playing this course and I understand several holes were removed and others added so I don't have a previous experience on this course to compare against.

The staff at the course from the bag drops guys to the golf shop staff, course host and starter were excellent and very service oriented. It seemed they were anticipating some confusion of golfers that have played the course before as everyone was extremely helpful in guiding people in the right direction. Strangely though, I didn't see the cart girl until the 18th fairway.

The course itself was recently reopened and several of the fairways and tee boxes were in poor shape given the price that I paid. I don't know which holes were added so I don't know if the holes that were in poor shape are the new holes or not but some of the tee boxes had bare spots and spotty brown grass on them. Many of the fairways had thin, sparse grass which required rolling the ball in a couple of spots. The greens in general were in very good shape compared to the fairways and the ball rolled true. No complaints about the greens.

I would like to play the course again in a few months hoping that the sparse grass fills in. The layout was very good and the greens were rolling which is a typical Arnold Palmer design feature.

Overall, a very nice course layout and excellent customer service but a little pricey considering the conditions but will certainly play it again in the future.

Course in great shape considering Florida's extreme drought. Not grimicky the way some resort courses can be. Not challenging enough for low handicapers but for the rest of us a fun course.

We played shingle creek on a windy day .

It is a very nice , well laid out course , presented very well with fairways and greens in very good condition .

There are water features on a lot of the holes but they seldom come directly into play , unless you are particularly wayward .

Our group ranged from one man playing off 7 , one off 17 and two women , one off 12 and the other off 26 ... and the course was a good experience for each of us , as the fairways are quite wide , and the greens are pretty true , if a little slower than any of us are used to playing on at our home clubs .

The staff in the pro shop , dining areas and bars were friendly and helpful , and there is a good practice area available , and range balls were included in the price .

I felt that shingle creek offered a very good course , in good condition , with friendly , helpful staff .... at a very good , very fair price .

With a 13 year break between the first time I played this course and this time I was really impressed with the new layout done by Arnold Palmer golf. Sadly I think I played it about a year to early because the conditions are still pretty rough. From spotty tee boxes to young fairways and greens that struggled some, the condition of this course has a ways to go. As for the new layout, it is really phenomenal and I think eventually it will become a must play on folks Orlando itineraries. Give it some time and I think you'll really enjoy playing Shingle Creek.

Based on some news I saw last year, I was under the assumption that Shingle Creek was just moving a few holes during the 2016 renovation, but boy is that wrong. The new layout, done by Arnold Palmer Design and Thad Layton, is totally different, and in my opinion, it's better. The green complexes, all remade or brand new, are a totally different philosophy, with virtually no rough around them, playing more like a Pinehurst or links-style course. The approach shots and short game decision-making is now a strength of the layout, when it used to not be all that remarkable.

I'm seeing a few bad reviews lamenting the design changes. It's true this isn't traditional Florida resort golf anymore. My answer is: There's no shortage of that in Orlando, you'll be fine.

Tee times at Shingle generally costs less than Waldorf-Ritz-Tranquilo but a little more than Hawk's Landing/Disney World, which I think makes sense, but check stay-and-play packages for good bargains.

Conditions are good at the moment but a summer of growth will serve the grounds well, as the majority of the acreage was re-turfed. Definitely put this course on your radar if you're going to be near Universal or the convention center.
