The Links at Everline
About
Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., the Everline Resort & Spa is a delight not only for its great golf, but for its history and scenic qualities, as well. In fact, the Audubon Society has certified the Everline Resort & Spa as a Cooperative Sanctuary due to its commitment toward natural greens-keeping methods.
Nestled in a scenic valley with protected wetlands, the Everline Resort & Spa gives golfers an outstanding day on the links, combining challenging play with awe-inspiring scenery. Forced carries and tight fairways put accuracy at a premium at this course, which holds a mind-boggling slope rating of 146 from the back tees.
For golf travelers looking to make Squaw Valley their home base, the golf action will not disappoint, and the resort has four outstanding restaurants, as well as all the amenities any golf traveler should expect from this legendary golf destination that was a host to the 1960 Summer Olympics.

We didn’t know only front 9 opened but beautiful course.
Great experience
Super awesome course just bring a lot of extra balls lol
Beautiful yet painful
Gorgeous course that must have been designed with a literal professional golfer In mind. Yardage guide is absolutely useless on most holes due to the lack of visibility of 75% of the features of every hole, I have never felt so lost on a course. Decided to play on a windy day and it may have been the worst golf decision of my life. If you are not extremely skilled prepare to lose between 5-15 golf balls due to the blind Tee shots, underwatered grass, and swamp like conditions less than 10 feet from the fairway. Also the bunkers are filled with dirt, not sand, so keep that in mind. Not to mention the tractor tire tracks that were evident on multiple fairways and managed to suck my ball in with ease. If you are looking for great scenery this is the place, a fun round of golf...not so much (unless your handicap is around 4 or less)
Target golf
Always an adventure. Lost some found some. Creative track inside a marsh in the Olympic valley. Gorgeous views worth the time.
Dry
Greens fair at best. Conditions a little rough yet.
Great Course
Great mountain course. Most play is in the valley. Fairways were good, greens ok but recovering. Choice of clubs and targets are important. Rough is tough and create lots of motivation to stay in the fairway.
Choppy greens with no warning
I've played this course many times and have always been satisfied. I find in unacceptable that I was not notified of the poor condition of the greens. There were aerated divets in every green making it impossible to have a normal putting experience. We asked for a refund/partial refund and John the pro refused. We stopped after 10 holes.
Hit em straight
Love playing this course. Views of the mountains breathtaking. Course is tight and narrow. Very interesting but you will lose balls. I will put my driver away most holes next time. And there will be a next time.
Beautiful surroundings
Tough course but good layout. The surroundings in Squaw Valley are awesome. Course wasn't in great condition. I'd only recommendat playing this course in late summer or fall once the grass has grown in.
Beautiful location, frustrating golf
First of all the service, amenities, and location are all first rate. After 3 holes (and no lost balls) we were saying "we'll have to come stay at the resort sometime and golf a few days". By the time we were starting the back nine though we were second guessing those remarks. It's definitely links style and target golf but the surrounding natural grass just eats up any ball that strays from the fairway and narrow 1st cut. We're both intermediate recreational golfers (I'm a 22 handicap) but my wife and I each lost about a dozen balls. If you can't hit consistently straight and are used to wide forgiving fairways this is not a course for you. We did get a "Hot Deal" for $40 each otherwise I would have been hugely disappointed. Will need to improve my game before returning again.
Target Golf
But for Golf Now, pricing at this course was ridiculously high.Maintenance substandard;greens diseased. Some tees consist of bare terra firma. While mountain holes are scenic,"swamp" best describes the others. If you hit the fairways, then good for you.If not- the rough is unfair-thick,high swampgrass. Pray that you brought a dozen balls or more. That said, staff was first class.Surroundings scenic.Expected much, much more from a course at a 5 star resort.Just sayin...Don't pay retail...
Squaw Valley Golf
Greens were slow and rough and not typical of a "resort" course. Yardage markers were few and far between. Was ok paying the lower "hot deal" price - but would not pay full price.
Bring extra balls
If you care about your score, play with someone who knows the course as there's a few surprises. Course starts as a mountain course (5 holes) and ends in the valley marshy links with target golf. It was Windy in afternoon, adding to the fun. It's mostly Marsh so if it's not Windy, I suspect you'll need deet or similar.
Great day out
First time playing this course. After reading the reviews, I was a little concerned about losing a bunch of golf balls. I listened to the golf shop guy and played the vast majority of my drives to 200-220 yard range. Mostly kept it is in ball and lost two balls. Enjoyed the course. Lots of great views from the course. Had a real good time.
Ball eating course
The staff was great. The area is beautiful . That said, the fairways are very narrow with lots of thick swamp grass to clear so make sure you have plenty of extra balls in your bag. But it was an interesting and fun course I would play again.
Links shminks
Layouts of holes unfair and very problematic.
Tee boxes old school. Carries way too far and not fun. Losing a dozen balls ridiculous. My worst round in 5 years.
Target Golf.
Not for the every day woman golfer. To much carry. Not good condition for where it is. The most positive is the beautiful setting.
Challenging mountain and valley course
Course in great shape. Would have loved to have had more holes on the mountain, but guess they used all the land up there they could. The valley holes were extremely difficult with long grass and blind landings. Could have used a forecaddie. If you didn't keep it in the fairways, your ball was lost more times than not. Enough water to keep it interesting. Beautiful scenery looking at the ski area and chair lifts. Would probably play it better the second time as would know the layout and where to hit. Would play again if in the area.
Too difficult!!
You need to be a golfer who can always land in the middle of the fairway. If not all you are doing is looking for your balls which is impossible to find.
The course is pretty though but I will not play it again.
