Disappointed Homeowner
I first played this course about 8 years ago and it was PRISTINE.....I made the decision to buy a home here with the hope that the new management company would restore it back to the gorgeous course it once was.....It's apparent that they have given up.....the bunkers and fairways are flooded rendering them unplayable.....the rough is brutal....exposed tree roots and hard packed dirt....this course is more suited as a rock quarry.....As a new homeowner, I am embarrassed to invite my friends and family to play here....I travel to Brentwood or Fairfield to play.....eventually they will just fill it in and build more homes.....The HOA Master Association chose the wrong management company....they should of went with CourseCo...For the record, I have not played here since purchasing my ome in June of its year, but I did walk it and was disgusted
A good experience
It was nice to see the course so green and in good shape. Hopefully, in a couple months it will still be a good experience. Hopefully, the sprinkler issues have been resolved. Time will tell.
Nice Course
Nice Course. For what the price with cart is reasonable. Pace of play was a little slow considering there was a twosome in front of me, and a twosome in front of them. Hole 17 has a group of trees that blocks the fairway that you have to go over or try to split them.
Muddy
The fairways are flooded and muddy. The drainage could be more better than it is now. The greens are in excellent conditions despite the rain.
Hidden Gem getting better
Been playing this course since it opened. Seen the good & the bad from Rio but the service never fails and the layout is as challenging as they come. Happy to see the continued improvements, course isn’t perfect but it’s a home for golf to the community and it’s worth a try if you haven’t already.
work in progress
the course when I played it a couple years ago was horrible. This time it was much better and is a work in progress. The GREENS were in excellent condition. The fairways are being worked in especially the front 9 , back nine is in great shape except for hole 18 which is being worked on . Can't wait for it to all be done it will be nice. The people at the facility are awesome and friendly and very helpful
Ugh
Horrible fairway conditions!
Should lower prices…
Rio on Sunday
The course is in good shape, there have been a few changes since I last played there. They are some good changes to allow for faster play. Sunday seems to be a good day to play there as not many people get up early to play.
Always a good time
This course is wonderful. It’s truly just a good time every time! The staff are just so kind and they’re great with our kids too! Food is great!
I know the course needs a lot of help and some tlc and they’re visibily working on it but it’s a great layout and the greens are always great.
Love rio vista ♥️
Best weather for golf
I had my best round of old at Rio Vista due to perfect weather conditions. Greens were a little bumpy but manageable.
Course is improving
I have played here a few times since July it’s get better but there’s still a lot of rooms for improvement but overall it’s getting better specially now that the wind died down and the grass is more green than summertime
Fun times
Brought my nephew, his girlfriend and my wife with us on the course as spectators. It was just my nephew and I that played while the girls took videos and pictures. Had a great time all around. Afterwards we had sumptuous dinner and drinks at the clubhouse. Awesome day spent !
Swampland
This place needs to close down until they grow some grass. It was a swamp. Instead of alligators they have Canadian geese all over. If your drive is lucky enough to find some of the grass in the fairway, good luck finding it. Mosquitoes are out in force, so spray and respray. The layout is pretty nice and the staff are okay. I’m not sure if they have a groundskeeper, doesn’t look like it. Needless to say, I won’t go back.
Goatpatch
Horrible
No notification either through Rio Vista's website, Nor on GolfNow that the greens have been aerated.
Staff at check-in offered no apologies, nor any compensation. There was more sand on some of the greens and there were in the bunkers, fairways, and rough areas that had as much weeds as they didn't have grass back nine was in OK shape the front nine was crap would not play again, unless sure conditions were much much improved
Water too much, muddy fairways.
This would be a great course if they did not flood the fairways every day. I've played this course 3 times in 2 months and every time the fairways are muddy. Greens are great, but the rest of the course is usually muddy from too much watering. Bunkers could use some attention as well, 1/2 don't have any sand in them or they're full of water from irrigation. Not recommending this course unless they cut back on flooding the fairways.
Good course for the price
I've played Rio Vista quite a few times usually early tee times. The fairways are often muddy do to irrigation. You'd hope they could have figured out how much to water without creating muddy sections. Greens were is great shape, bunkers could use some attention.
Slot,
Thanks for taking the time to post. We are sorry to hear that you find the course to be in such poor shape. I wanted to set the facts straight on a few things. Warrior Asset Management is not just a management company, we actually own the golf course. There are no plans to build more homes. We have only owned the course for about two years now and have made significant improvements in that time. The golf course still has many areas that need to be addressed and we will continue to work on those things.
