Countryway Golf Club
About
Countryway Golf Club is an executive golf course that is known for its extremely affordable rates. Situated in the heart of Westchase, it is considered one of the best values in Tampa Bay. The layout consists of eleven par-3 holes and seven par 4s. The golf course is challenging enough for more advanced golfers but it is still player-friendly enough for beginners to enjoy. The rolling terrain provides undulations in both the greens and fairways. The hills also make for some challenging putts. There is no shortage of water at Countryway Golf Club with hazards coming into play on 14 holes. There are also bunkers strategically placed throughout.

Pleasantly surprised
I usually play courses 6,000 yards. So I never considered this as an option. I was delightded to see a course with a great layout. Nice elevation changes challenging sand traps, water and really just a great fun. If you want to practice a shorter game this is a great place to go.
Improved
I have always enjoyed this course but the last time we played it (2 months ago) it was not in the best of shape. But that has changed, it was in very good shape from tee boxes to greens!
Charged 2x
Arrived at course and were informed the Golf Now reservation did not go through. We paid the greens fees @ the course.
Received an additional convenience fee to our credit card from Golf Now for $5.35, which we have disputed.
Good value for the money
This executive golf course is one the best value in the Tampa Bay area. It also has the most gators I've ever seen in a course. We spotted at least a dozen while playing. Some big ones seemed quite unfriendly...
Not worth it, even if it’s inexpensive
We played many years ago and remembered it being a good experience, and a short but cute course. Unfortunately, it was a bad experience this time around. It was so crowded everyone was on top of each other. Since the pace was super slow, we had somewhere to be and had to leave after only getting in 9 even if we paid for full18. There is only a portable bathroom on the front 9, which is ridiculous, so we held it until we got back to the clubhouse. We were also so thirsty and thought there’d be a beverage cart driving around being that they had so many customers playing, but no. We finally went to fill our empty water bottles at a cooler but it was empty, meaning not empty of water but there was no cooler/dispenser even in the box. The fairways are OK but greens were in poor shape. We weren’t impressed. The staff was friendly, but otherwise it was a waste of time and money, even if the rates are low.
It’s cheap but jammed packed! Carts/people all over the place like ants. If you like a, very, very slow pace of play (takes 4hrs to play a round) then I wouldn’t recommend this place! Next time I’ll spend $5-$10 more and have a pleasurable day. Last time playing this course, like they say you get what you pay for.!!
A lot of fun
Played with three members Anthony, Barry, and Harold and had a fantastic day playing with them. Course conditions were good the only downside was that some of the tee boxes were beat up. A really fun course to play though. Would recommend the course for play.
Challenging exec course
Slow pace - lots of twosomes and singles but staff was great and good course to practice short game. Par threes mainly with some fours. Even though the holes were short, they were challenging. Recommend the course, especially for the price.
Challenging short course
Great practice course for your short and long irons but lots of beginners so slow pace of play.
Slowest round of golf I've ever played. Took 5.5 hours to play 18 on a short par 3. They way overbook their tee times and act like there's nothing they can do about it.
Unbelievable
Total free for all. No marshal or starter so everyone is just going out whenever. At one point, I pulled up to #5 to find that my group was 3rd in line on the tee box while there were another two groups already out on the hole. Gave up after 9 holes
