Fun and challenging
Great course in excellent condition despite days of rain. I had not played the Bridges since Katrina and was pleasantly surprised to find it even better than before. Only 50 miles from downtown New Orleans we stayed at the Hollywood Casino Resort while there for the Sugar Bowl. The course is challenging though fair with several tees to choose from. Both greens and fairways were in great shape. A definite must play during any visit to the MS gulf coast.
Condition
The course layout and design was great but the maintenance on the other hand, the roughs had a lot of areas not mowed recently, the fairways were in pretty good condition but the greens were a little disappointing. They were very thin in some areas. You can tell they are working on it because they recently aerated. But a topdress in the meantime and some fertilizer would thicken them up quick. I think we just caught the course at a bad time. In a month the greens would be top tier and the Poa Annua would be burned off. But I can see most of the time this course being nothing less than 4 stars.
First time playing this course
Unfortunately, they had a scramble going on..Pace was horrible, but that happens with scrambles. Greens are in recovery mode due to winter kill. Still puttable, but expected better with a Palmer course. Layout is great, however as a first time player, I found all of the blind hazards and a few that were not blind from the fairways. Will play again for a discounted rate
Greens are Horrible
Played 18 there today. Greens are in horrible condition. Not just one or two but literally every green. Virtually unplayable. The fringe is awash in weeds and the greens look like they have some sort of disease. On the positive side, the course layout is fantastic, super challenging and fun and fairways are in good shape. Price was fair (if greens were playable). I would play there again once they fix the issues w the greens.
The Course
Course was in poor shape. The greens were terrible! One green was just hard gray dirt!!! It was terrible! It’s not the same bridges from years ago, that’s for sure!! I’m glad I didn’t pay $105. Thank God I had free vouchers!!! Never again!
A course with some elevation changes
Nice layout and challenging. Greens need some TLC.
Not worth the visit
little to no grass on the greens, mostly hard packed dirt or mud. The pace of play was abysmal, 4hr 45 min on a week day. Too many singles and twosomes on the course behind a tournament evidently, no player assistance to keep things moving. Definitely not worth going back to and surely not worth the Hot Deal even on Golf Pass
Stupid Pin Placement
The pin placement was stupid.
This is not challenging its stupid to put a pin on a downhill slope going with the grain.
I was hitting shots 4 ft from the flag and could even get it in the cup after 4 putts.
Not fun at all.
A couple of times we just picked up and went to the next hole.
Why would they do this?
Golf is supposed to be fun, this wan the furthest thin from fun I have ever had on playing golf.
Will never play there again.
Day out golfing
We enjoyed our round of golf and the challenge was inviting. The course is well maintained.
