Western Skies Golf Club
About
The golf course at the Western Skies Golf Club has a traditional layout with many different challenges and beautiful views. Surrounded by picturesque mountains and valleys, the course offers a taste of the countryside, which is further enhanced by the many aged Mesquite and Pinon trees sprinkled throughout. It features tree-lined fairways with generous landing areas and tricky water hazards. Two notable holes are the 4th and 7th holes, both par 3s. Although it is a modest 186 yards, the 4th hole requires a carry over water to a heavily bunkered green. Western Skies Golf Club's 18th hole is a drivable par four with water along the right side, making this an exciting finishing hole.

Very good
Fairways and greens are in very good shape and the course is always fun to play. I will play there many times this month.
Decent but very slow play
Good course, 40 minutes behind schedule
No marshal and there was a group of 8 playing
Also don’t see the beverage cart on the back 9, to hot to be without a drink
Soft greens, beautiful day
Love this course. Every green held nice. We were shooting for the Flags on every hole. Putting was very true and smooth. Bunkers had great sand. 3:53 hour round. $84 and worth it.
Nice course, no drinking water on course
Nice course, but no drinking water or ball washers on the course is crazy. Someone is going to get heat stroke on the course
Loved it
Great course condition and friendly staff. Very easy course! Played the best round of my life.
Western scam
Payed for on golf now. Got to course, and they charged me again twice of what it cost through GolfNow.. I just went back today and got it straightened out with their manager Kyle. He refunded the extra charge and said oh, this will be an learning opportunity for my staff.. he didn’t offer any compensation for the three hours of time I spent trying to straighten it out. they do not seem concerned about taking care of their clients. It seems they have plenty of business and therefore mine didn’t matter will not be going back. Do not recommend plenty of courses to go to don’t need western skies as they seem they don’t need me.
Nice course, but no drinking water
Fine course to play but there is no drinking water on the course or ball washers. This is Phoenix someone is gonna die out there, needs to be fixed asap.
Great Value - Probably Best Value in Greater Phoenix
First time at Western Skies and really enjoyed my day. My golfing friend has played Western Skies before but I had not. All facilities there are well maintained and the staff was exceptional. The course layout is nothing too spectacular, however the fairways are in very good shape as well as the greens. Played on Friday April 12 which is still considered peak season in the greater Phoenix area, yet I was able to get an 11 AM tee time for $40 which included tax, so there are deals here if you book in advance. I found this deal about 8 days in advance. We played the white tees and scored well (6 over par for me). There is water on 3 or 4 holes but it really doesn't come into play unless you hit a very poor shot. I was only in 1 bunker and really there are not a lot of bunkers to worry about. I also found the conditions of the 1 bunker I was in to be excellent, as I saved par with a good bunker shot and I'm an average bunker player at best.
It was busy so the pace of play seemed a little slow, but there were no gaps in the groups so hard to complain, plus it was a very nice day to be outside so I actually enjoyed the slower pace.
Highly recommend this public course, it's a great value with great people running the show.
good summertime option
definitely a go to course in the summer cant see myself paying the winter rates, it seemed is was luck at the 2pm tee time because the group in front of me was three holes ahead and the single behind me was three behind, However when I started they were three foursomes deep at ten so pace of play is probably an issue in busier times, but that's to be expected this time of year in AZ, greens were a little banged up but again this time of year in AZ that's to be expected. definitely will be coming back in a month or two.
