Wigwam Resort - Blue Course
About
The Wigwam Resort possesses three 18-hole courses, the Blue Course, the Red Course, and the Gold Course. All three courses were built on a rolling terrain with mature creeks sprinkled throughout and meandering creeks running through, which can all affect shots. The Blue Course is the shortest of the three courses but Blue plays long due to the elevated greens. The creeks create water hazards that come into play on several holes and there are also many strategically placed sand bunkers throughout the course as well. The Wigwam Resort facility has various practice facilities including a chipping area and putting green.

Patriot course
Course is in excellent shape from tee to green except the greens are concrete and will not accept an approach shot into them. this is despite playing the new TM ball that is supposed to stop on a dime. Not on these greens. Remodel of bunkers is also a welcome site and are PGA tour quality. Got a hot deal on Golf Now but likely will not play this course again this year. Gold course is in great shape as well and with summer approaching deals will be available for it.
Blue
The sand was in the best condition I have ever played it. True championship condition. Greens were playing true and no bumps whatsoever. Overall experience was fantastic.
Wigwam Blue
Played on a Sunday morning. Staff were friendly. Be sure you I head into the men’s locker room and grab a coffee and hear about some of the history of the club. Bob was working the drink station in the locker room, and has been at Wigwam for over 25 years.
The greens were in excellent condition. Some difficult pins made for a lot of fun golf.
Great Value (almost 5 stars)
Excellent value for peak season. Paid under $100 for the round. Peak Golf season in PHX is ridiculously expensive. I would have given 5/5 stars if the pace of play was a little faster and the bathrooms out on the course were usable.
I will absolutely be back to play here. Staff is great. Course layout is fun. Greens and fairways are in great shape.
Great course on the west side
This course is always in great condition. Great value for the cost.
Nice shape
We enjoyed playing the Blue course.. its a bit shorter but can be challenging due to the bunkers. There were two dummies behind us that were non golfers and really had no business being out there... they couldn't hit the ball 10 feet but we were always watching because they were hitting from distances that could have hit us easily if they made contact... Still disappointed that the management allow groups of six and seven golfers. We like wigwam it was our favourite if we got a deal on golf now... The prices have gone nutty and we likely won't return to AZ.
Hard course
Make sure your scoring clubs have those grooves clean. Like a pga course. Position is everything. Leave the driver. Position is everything.
Not impressed
Conditions were okay. I found many of the holes looked the same. After your drive, you are looking at an elevated green with a massive bunker each side and a small area in the middle. Every green was an upside down pie plate. Many huge bunkers all around the course. Lack of rakes as well.
Definitely no “signature hole”.
Not for me.
A HARD course
Fast greens, on top of aircraft carrier slopes, surrounded by bunkers. I see what they were trying to do, force you t plan a roll on approach that requires advanced planning or have expert lob skills. If you just want a fun round of golf, pick the red or gold. If you want to have a highly technical focused training session that is unforgiving and sometimes obnoxiously difficult, this is the course.
This is immaculately maintained, the staff is awesome, carts and greens are near perfect. A pro who wasn’t at the top of his game would have trouble with par on some holes. Bring your sand wedge the bunkers are hiding.
Loved the Blue
Great track for beginning/Intermediate golfers with wide open, forgiving layout. Scoring is challenged by tiny, elevated and protected greens throughout. Course conditions were fantastic on a fairly blustery day where you are primarily hitting into or across
prevailing SW winds after the first few holes. There is a confusing spot where the Gold #18 overlaps the last couple Blue holes, but signage is good. Our twosome finished in just over 3hrs on a Friday.
Will look forward to trying the Red or Gold course next time!
Beautiful course
Very happy with my visit. Had a great time playing and loved every minute enjoying this great conditioned course.
A great day
Tee time of 11 am with another couple. No players ahead of us, completed the round in just over 3 1/2 hrs.
Course us in great shape. No staff to offer to help with our bags to the car.
