I have been in Phoenix 30 years and played most courses but had never played here before. Staff was really friendly and course, for summer conditions, was in better shape than most of the pricier Scottsdale courses I have played this summer. Bunkers actually had decent sand in them and greens were good too. Course layout is nice, tee box selection can make this a challenge for low handicappers (back tees are over 7,000 yards) or if you move forward, very playable for middle to mid high handicappers.

Longbow is a great course with a wonderful layout. When I played, the greens were rolling very fast, but were hard and not receptive. Also, hole #10 fairway was under repair since an airplane crashed into it, but it just made the hole a little more difficult. They don't seem to lower their prices as much as similar quality courses do in the summer or else I would play here more. If the greens were more receptive there would be a lot of scoring opportunities.

I've played this course several times and continue to come back due to the layout and course design. However, I played on July 4th and was very disappointed. I know it's summer and its hard to keep a course in good condition but it was very burnt out and needed work. In addition, the sand traps right now are complete garbage. They don't have any sand in them and are worse than even hitting out of the desert. I keep an old club in my bag to use in desert/rocky areas and ended up using this club in the sand in fear of what the traps would do to my sand wedge.

Aside from the poor conditions, I felt the day was well run. Due to the holiday, they had a shot gun start at 7am in order to allow the staff to enjoy the later part of the day. It made the round slower than usual and a bit frustrating due to the extreme heat but not terrible.

We will be back to play this course and would recommend it to family and friends but I REALLY hope the course management will fix the sand issues. If this continues to be a problem, my recommendation answer would change and I will stop playing there.

Mowers and sweepers everywhere cutting rough. Uncut rough grass laying in clumps so we moved ball on many occasions. Pro shop said course in good condition when I called prior to booking. Airplanes overhead continually. Mowers oblivious to golfers in their proximity.

Course was undergoing a lot of maintence, which I know is common this time of year. GolfNow needs to notify users that the greens were recently punched for air and they were the size of pennies. Tee box was solid earth, no grass. Bunkers was gravel found in the parking lot it seemed. Overall very very poor course conditions, but it doesn't stop them from booking tee times 4 mins apart from each other. 5.5 hour round. Ranger didn't say a word to us after the fact. I will most likely never return unless a new greens keeper/course management team has taken over. Good luck

Myself and three others played on June 10th. It took us 5.5 hours to play 18. There is minimal water on the course to drink (fountains at hole 8 & 15). They give you two 12 oz water bottles at the start of your round but that only gets you through maybe 2-3 holes when it's over 100 degrees. We didn't see the cart girl until hole 7. At hole 6 we were the third group backed up waiting to tee off. It took about 20 mins before we finally got on the box to tee off. The greens had been punched I would say no more then a week prior to us playing, we were unaware of this before teeing off and wouldn't have played here had we known. The tee boxes had no green grass on them and were very hard, some tee boxes it was a struggle just to find a spot soft enough to put a tee all the way in for an iron off the box. Overall the course was not in great shape. I was disappointed as I've played this course a few times and have always enjoyed it. To my memory it was always one of the better summer courses in phoenix. It doesn't seem to be that way any longer.

This is the second time playing Longbow and unfortunately after giving it another chance it left the same impression. Not the greatest Kavanaugh layout and not the greatest course Conditions!

I understand that it's June, but it's far to dry and the bunkers were horrible! Nevermind the fact that there was no advisory at booking that the greens had recently been airated! Hence the cheap deal I suppose!

That being said in normal conditions this course usually asks for the same dollar on par with Red Mountain and Las Sendas......but it is just not worth it both in price and appealing course design as the Dye and RTJ courses.

I would spend extra to go elsewhere.

This is a great course and is a top course in that area. You will earn every par and if your luck to hit a birdy, your playing good. The green were like glass and very fast. The fairways were well keeper and required that you hit long and straight. It will make a believer out of you.

This course for $25 is a bargain. However today the greens were super fast and several times just a tap sent the ball farther past the hole than you started. That being said you got some very good carry and roll off the fairways.

It's hot! So, not too surprised to find the course pretty dry. Also had some aerating issues. This was probably the worst condition that I've ever seen Longbow in. It's still one of my favorite courses!

We had a fantastic day, starting with a great breakfast sandwich followed be very friendly staff. We were able to get off a bit earlier than our time and we completed the course in 3&3/4 hrs. We got a great value from GolfNow. I give this course my highest recommendation and we will return to play again ASAP (until the prices climb up again in the fall).

Must give two thumbs up. I liked how it felt secluded in the desert even though its in the city. The pace of play was amazing never felt rushed or waited even on Memorial Day. If a will rounded desert course is your game then this course has your name. I believe we left a few birdies out there .
