Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club
About
Robert Trent Jones II designed the golf course at Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club, creating a championship course to shift gently from open play to intimate foliage along Willow Wash. The golf delivers Southwestern authenticity, with etroglyph-etched boulders marking holes. It differs from the "target" golf courses of Arizona in that it features player-friendly golf, manicuring transition spaces so that golfers face minimal penalty when recovering.
At the Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club, Robert Trent Jones II demands strategic and varied shooting, meaning the round of golf will challenge as well as refresh golfers.
After the round at the Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club, head back to the casual elegance of the clubhouse.

Very disappointed .....horrible greens!
Driving all the way out to Cave Creek from Scottsdale to play an RTJ course sounds like a great plan. It is in the case of Las Sendas in Mesa and Wigwam in the Litcfield area out west.........BUT Not in this case!
This is a very very basic layout from RTJ.......nothing asthetically appealing from a course design perspective on 90% of the holes......great views of mountains........but I play golf......... This has to be the reason why they have tried to make their greens as hard and unreceptive as possible. When your throwing 60 degree wedges from the fairway at your spot and they are rolling to the back......that's RIDICULOUS......it's time to stick some holes in them and some H2O. I have played over a dozen rounds in the last two weeks on more difficult and higher rated courses and these greens were the worst by far.
How this course has such a high slope is also super questionable......played the tips..........should be in the mid 120's
Leaving on a positive....... the fairways and t decks were nice, carts were good and the club drop was well set up.
6 Hour Round
We played on a Saturday and had the misfortune of playing a couple holes behind a bachelor party. They were drunk, and at one point they hit one of our players balls, and denied it of course. At one point the cart driver took a corner so fast that his chubby passenger fell out of the cart. The Marshall said they were warned twice, however nothing changed and they weren’t removed from the course.
When we complained, the assistant mgr offered us four drink chips and two rain checks. I wouldn’t even give them away due to our experience at this club.
$185 down the drain and a day of golf lost.
Dove Valley Review
Course was in good condition with the greens very hard and fast. The back nine was different from the front with short par fours that had a lot of twist and turns. Some where you of had to have played to know where to go. You really had to pay attention to the shot tracker on your golf cart. Bummer that the driving range was closed before our round.
Beautiful course
I will keep a great memory of that course. We play for a good price at 10h39 am, the course was well maintained and beautiful, staff was friendly. Nothing bad to say!
Not worth it.
Unfortunately for Dove Valley they do not have any ranger assistance during the week days. We were told this after we prematurely quit the round due to painfully slow pace of play. With no ranger on duty there was absolutely no time enforcement and we were left waiting to tee off at every hole. At points there were multiple groups waiting to T off. We finished 12 and ended up quitting. We drove the cart back to the drop where we told staff how far they were backed up. Without even an apology they replied “yeah, there is no ranger on staff during the week days.” What?! So probably won’t be going back even though the course was generally nice. Also to add insult to injury, we only saw the cart girl once and she drove right by never to be seen again.
Good not great
Pluses and minuses. The back is very tricky and not a great layout. Course is in great shape but not likely to return.
Dove Valley
Wonderful course to play … fun, fair and challenging enough. Love the facility and would play it more often if I could get the $99 COST. I’ve called and was quoted over $150 closer to $180 and that is high. I’m a member of Desert Mountain and would play there instead. But would prefer to play Dave Valley from time to time as a change of pace. At least twice per month.
Thanks for a fun course.
Well conditioned course with great range. Layout is good but a few holes early in the back nine are a little weak. Beverage cart and bar staff were terrific.
Excellent track!
Great layout
Beauty scenery
Greens fast
Challenging no matter what tee blocks
Great course !!
Fast greens, great layout … just loved it… pro shop below average, staff about the same … nonetheless, good golf experience!
Great Course!
We played Dove Valley and really thought highly of the course. The views were really great and the conditions were also awesome. The greens were lightning fast and rolled so smoothly.
The course had some weird holes and that was maybe the downside of the course was the blind tee shots. There were maybe 4 holes or so that I think would be a lot nicer if they would open up some of the brush in the way. Overall a really good experience and my 7 year made his first Eagle!!
Solid Course
We really enjoyed this course. Fairways and greens were solid. There were a couple of bunkers that needed sand. We didn't have a starter but still got off on time. Would definitely play again when in the area.
Nice day
Upon arrival greeted by polite staff that checks you in and loads clubs. Better than average pro shop and bar.
The course is in good shape, green grass, good sand, smooth quick greens and good pace of play. The only negative is the greens are so hard that they don't hold approach shots.
Really Nice Track
I think that this is one of the best public access golf courses in the Phoenix area. The greens were plenty quick and true without the crazy undulations that many course designers build in today. The fairway grass was great. The practice facility was great as well. A real treat.
I played this course on 6/26 and I completely disagree with this post. The greens were awesome. They rolled pure and true on every hole. Approach shots landed slightly firm but my friend and I had no issue getting the ball to stop. I would definitely recommend playing here.
