Course was in good shape but they started us on 10 with 2 groups waiting. Combined with a no cart on the fairway rule and you have a 5 hour plus round. The course is close to home and we will play here again.

Golf here! The greens are the only thing negative I have to say about this place. They're spotty and very slow. But, not bad for Phoenix summer golf. The layout from the back tees is perfect. Traps are great. Fairways are lush. Fair golf. Awesome outdoor lounge area with awnings and mist fans. The cart attendants are on top of things as well. I had a Burger from the restaurant which was cooked perfectly. Like I said...Golf here!

Ground Crews drove mowers around greens as approached. Drove gators with trailers across fairway as getting ready to hit. Ground crews revved machinery as teeing off and putting. Drove carts on fairways as if "buzzing" golfers, ie: directly toward from front and rear as preparing to shoot. Pro shop staff put onus back on golfers, ie; "You should have called us from the course so we could fix it. How do we do that? You had a cell phone, didn't you?"

The only saving grace for this resort is the restaurant server who was personable as well as attentive and the cart service on the course which was prompt and kindly.

Additional fee for range balls, really?? Other resort golf clubs include them in the fee. I've recently been playing the Lookout Mountain and Westbrook Village Lakes and/or Vistas courses most weeks. On a suggestion from a friend, we tried out Orange Tree this week. I was very disappointed compared to the service and quality of the course. Lookout Mountain has extremely helpful staff who go above expectations with a smile. Quality of the course was poor.. hard tee boxes, extremely deep rough with mounds of cut grass left everywhere, greens with areas of disrepair and stray grass clumps growing throughout left me wishing I had booked elsewhere. Having to pay additional money for range balls, when most quality courses now include them in the greens fees... Disappointing. The only saving grace was the service staff at the end of the round were friendly and offered assistance out to our vehicles. We didn't see a ranger at all in our outing and the threesome ahead of us was playing very slowly. Again, disappointment is what comes to mind when thinking of the whole experience.

I haven't played Orange Tree in a few years, but found myself there on Labor Day. The course was in great condition and the greens were full and receptive. The entire course was in great shape. They had a bit of maintenance going on, on #9 but the Pro-Shop, Starter and Range all made sure we were well aware of the slight issue.

Beverage cart attendant was very nice, had plenty of cold beverages and we saw here multiple times, even on a busy holiday round.

The starter, "Coach" was very friendly and we were happy to talk to him more than once about the fine history of the property.

Overall, we had an excellent time and I will definitely keep them in my rotation going forward!

I can tell they're spending money here. Finally! I stopped playing this course due to the bunkers not having any sand, fairways bare and hard and greens in below average shape. With all that said, I was pleasantly surprised when I stepped on the first tee and saw how green everything was. I can see they're finally turning this course around. Fairways were excellent and the greens were in great shape. Bunkers actually hand sand in them. I was timid with my first bunker shot because I didn't believe there would be enough sand to hit behind the ball. I was wrong. The only downside of not playing this course in awhile was the rough. It is grown out in and it made it difficult to find your ball. I'm looking forward to returning this course into my normal rotation.

This is an older style track, very flat, winding through and older, upscale neighborhood. No desert or Arizona scenery, it feels more like a course from back East. Tall trees and some water to be found on a few holes. Condition was good overall.

Pace of play, however, was terrible, especially for a summer round. First, I was called 2 hours ahead of my tee time to be politely told my start was pushed back 30 mins. It ended up being more than 45. Someone had overbooked two early tournaments. All tee times that day were shoved back and crammed into the afternoon, making the pace unbearably slow. I recently heard they laid off their tournament director, and it's obviously hurting their planning. Things happen, I understand, but I can't help feeling a bit put off, like a 2nd class customer to them. How about offering a free round, or a drink coupon, or something? I even had to pay for a bucket of warm up balls.

At least the price of the round was right, so maybe you get what you pay for. But I'm not in a hurry to play there again, unfortunately.

Course is not in great shape, but then you are only paying a small fee, so no reason to complain. If you are looking for a day out to practice hitting drives and getting the ball onto the green, then this is a good practice day. Greens are not in good shape and much of the rough is so high that you will not be able to find your ball. Course personnel are wonderful and helpful and the clubhouse and other amenities are clean and nice. Just don't expect a lot as the course is not getting enough play and the level of maintenance shows that minimal effort is being made.

As I live in Scottsdale, this is a good go-to course. The price is usually reasonable and the course is consistently in good condition. The driving range and putting/chipping areas are adequate. The staff is always friendly and professional. The course itself always plays harder than it looks as the greens are mostly elevated and trap-protected. Enough water to make it interesting. One negative is slow play as they tend to pack them in. A positive is the attractive cart girls who entertain you while waiting on the t box!
