Desert Mountain Club has the distinction of possessing not only one Jack Nicklaus-designed course, but six golf courses designed by the legendary golfer. Almost all of the courses have desert-style layouts with natural desert vegetation coming into play near the fairways and greens. The Cochise Course features medium-sized, elevated greens that are well protected by sand bunkers. The subtle contours of the greens require a deft touch. The signature holes are four challenging "risk-and reward" par-5's. One particularly challenging hole on Desert Mountain's Cochise course is the par-3, seventh. Its modest length is deceptive since there is an elevated peninsula green on the hole. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes.

Wow! Golf Heaven on earth.

Played fast. Course was immaculate. Some of cart paths were dangerously steep. Felt like cart would tip end over end. For a course of this caliber, I felt design of cart path on one particular hole could have been safer. Other than that, perfect. Greens very fast 11+. Great challange. Wide fairways. Manageable for any handicap. I'm 7 and shot 87 and was thrilled.
