Great Value, Great Pace of Play, Very Tricky
New management has certainly improved the Canada course greatly over the past year. I was surprised to see how well the course has grown in. Its summer conditions are extremely competitive with the best Tucson has to offer right now.
The course is challenging, utilizing great elevation changes and narrow fairways to make a rather short course from the black tees, play difficult. I always recommend first time players to move up a full 300 yards from their normal distance, as the fairways are very tight, and have desert hazard all around, meaning that driver (or even 3 wood) is often not the best club off the tee to attack the pins. The greens are very fair.
Range Balls are included with the greens fees, making this a great value. Especially if combined with one of the many Restaurant combos now offered through the summer.
Pace of play is fantastic, if not too fast. My threesome finished in 3:25, and was passed by 2 twosomes.
There are lots of water stations on the course for you to refill a water bottle or cup, though restrooms on the back nine are only on the way to 10 and the 15th tee.
Sadly, this is not a walking course. But it sure is a fun course to play with some great spots to take some pictures of the Catalinas.
Beautiful tricky course
The course was in great condition and the carts were a pleasure to drive: responsive, quiet and nicely equipped. It’s not my husband‘s favorite course because the fairways are kind of narrow, So it’s easy to lose some balls. He lost a couple and I lost one brand new one, but I also found at least three ha ha!
As for level of play I would consider myself an advanced beginner: I can get to the green in two or three strokes, but then it usually takes me at least that many to get her done!
Great Day
Sun shone, birds sang and palm trees were blowing in the wind. Wish I wouldn’t have 3 putted so many times but nothing could ruin the beautiful day on a beautiful course with good people.
What a day
Perfect weather. Beautiful course with breathtaking views with difficulty that at times made me cry. A real challenge and a lot of fun. Very friendly staff. Thank you.
Great pre-Easter round
Course is in great shape, greens are rolling. Both courses are the best value for the quality in Tucson! Pace of play was great, played the round in 4 hours 10 minutes, really good for middle of the day on a Saturday.
Good condition
Course was in good shape. Grass was green and healthy and greens rolled nicely. I enjoyed the round.
Satisfying course
A really enjoyable course.
Only downside was that I played with a friend - intended two ball.
Unfortunately had no choice in being assigned to two strangers to play with us to create 4-ball.
Couldn’t really see why we couldn’t play two ball because the course was not overly busy.
Other than that, the course was in good condition….greens were really well kept.
Greens in great condition!
Had a nice round at Conquistador. Course is in pretty good winter condition. Greens were great to putt on. Smooth & fast! Lots of undulations on fairways & greens. Plenty of challenge!
Thank you for taking the time to review our course. We are glad that you had a great experience. We hope to see you back on the course soon.
