The layout of this course made it feel like I was playing on a mountain course instead of in Florida.

The only thing I was not too pleased about was the slow conditions of the greens. However, overall, it was a great experience for my first time on this course. I will definitely return.

I had time to play one round of golf before flying out of Orlando later that night. I decided to give this place a try as it had great reviews. I was also considering Grand Cypress, Orange County National, and Omni Championsgate. I found a Hot Deal time for Mission Inn so I took up the opportunity to play this course. I was very disappointed in the conditions of the course compared to the reviews I have read on multiple sites. The lakes and streams were all empty, there were bare patches around the greens and off of the fairways. I would give the facility a two star rating for the conditions, but the greens rolled nice and propped it up. Compared to the World Woods courses I played a few days prior, the conditions here left a lot to be desired. I could see how it could have been great at one point, but I would not recommend it in its current state.

The course design had some interesting holes. One thing that really bothered me though were two holes (one on each 9) that ran parallel to each other going across the same pond and up the same hill. These holes were virtually identical. When I play a course with 18 holes I do not want to play the exact same hole twice. The 17th hole was a standout and there were 2-3 other holes that were pretty unique.

For the same price, I would have much rather played Grand Cypress, Chamionsgate, or Orange County National. This course is a good local course, but not worth a drive from the greater Orlando area.

Thank you for taking the time to review our facilities and are excited you found the greens to be in great shape. You may not be aware, but we are currently under a mandatory water restriction due to the drought like conditions in Florida and thus our lakes and ponds are a few feet below normal conditions. I'm sorry to hear you found the conditions and layout sub-par but hope you will give us another chance once we are able to irrigate on a regular basis.

Thank you for visiting.

We played El Champion course. We played early in the day. We felt like the only players on the course, so speed of play was excellent. the course was in magnificent condition, greens were smooth and true, the fairways were well manicured and all divots were filled and/or grown in. The overall experience was EXCELLENT. If you have not played this OLD course, you need to play it now.

You couldn't tell it has been very hot and very dry lately. Course was in great condition. Played the day after the week long D3 Men's National Championship and the greens and fairways were very well kept. Greens could have been a little faster but were very smooth. Definitely some challenging holes from the tips. Teed off very early on a Saturday morning and played in a little over 3 hours in a twosome. Will definitely be back!

The only complaints I have about the course were the sand and the murky ponds. Hitting out of the traps was like hitting off of concrete. If they spent money on the traps, it would be a nice track. This has nothing to do with the superintendent, as they are only as good as their budget. Otherwise, the pace of play was great and the greens were running fast.

After golfing for 6 days straight, my buddy and I agreed that this course and the Grand Cypress New Course were the top two. That's pretty high praise because we also golfed Bay Hill.

The course layout is wonderful with lots of elevation changes. Unlike some of the other courses I have rated, the course if fairly tough, but very fair. What you see is what you get. Some beautiful elevated tees with great views hitting down onto a general fairway. We will definitely be back to golf this course. Last bit of advice: On #17 Par 5, you have to hit your second shot well right and down close to the water to clear the devilish large tree perch right in the middle of the fairway. There's a bunker in front of the water worst case if you hit it too close, you'll have a 85 yard fairway bunker shot over water, but better than being blocked out! Enjoy the course.

We decided to play this course base on the online reviews and accolades. We were very disappointed with the quality of service from the staff and overall experience. There was nobody to greet us, we had to offload our bags and load onto the cart, there was no starter to provide pin position or insight on the course, and the clubhouse was more like a flea market. The course condition was okay and the greens were slow. We were expecting a much better experience. Please keep in mind we have played other top tier courses that provided much better golf/experience. Shingle Creek, Tranquilo, Waldorf Astoria, Grand Cypress, Orange County National, Ritz Carlton.

We are staying about 10 miles from Disney property, and was looking to play a new course after many trips to Orlando area. The ratings on Golf Advisor were outstanding, so we decided to play today. The rate of $99 was fair, but the course was significantly below the quality of courses we have played in the area, In April, the course should be lush, and well kept, but looked and played more like January conditions. The greens were recently top-dressed, but understand this maintenance. Biggest complaint was the pace of play, teed-off at 10am, and waited for 18 holes. In total the round took 5 hours to play, which is at least 30-45 too log. Did not see a single ranger to ask how were doing, or push to the groups ahead of us. Learned that a group of 20 golfers were ahead of us, playing scrabble format, which is fine, but play was so slow. Would not recommend anyone staying close to Disney property make the 50 min. drive.

Played the course with a good friend, we also picked up a third and his wife (spectator/caddie/pin tender/bunker raker), she was awesome. Upon arrival the staff was very timely and attentive. We had an 11:08 tee time so I arrived at about 9:30 or so to warm up and grab a bite to eat. Well not so fast, the restaurant was not open so there was no breakfast available except perhaps something from the cart girl who I did not see until about #7. So I started feeling a little famished, (if you have an early tee time get breakfast on the way). Range balls were not included in the $85.00 price which I found a little odd I guess. Typically when I pay that much to play golf pre-round range balls are included(not the case here). Nor do they provide for any type of Military Discount while I do not always expect it I always ask. The golf course was absolutely amazing tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in great condition. We noticed that they had removed the Black Tee Markers from play probably not a bad thing for first time visitors. No issues with pace of play. I have played golf in lots of places, this does not feel like a Florida course lots of elevation changes and just a beautiful course. Sand in the bunkers seemed to be very heavy and thick. I was able to card a 92 while my good friend scored 90, it was a great challenge and we will go again. If you live in the state of Florida this one is worth a visit, you will not be disappointed. Well except for that breakfast thing....I'm Just Saying......Cheers,
