Better than Lake Buena Vista
I golf quite often at my local courses, but this was my first vacation to Disney that included golf. I played Lake Buena Vista yesterday and Magnolia today. Lake Buena Vista was hard, but their greens still have not recovered from aerations. Fortunately Magnolia's greens were in terrific shape considering then recent aeration. The course was not crowded at all (2:45 tee time) and while playing with one other stranger who was a great guy, we had all the time in the world. No one behind us. A twosome in front that were fast. The course itself is real difficult (which is great), with a lot of water features, but if you can stay relatively straight and you can drive, you should be able to post a good score as long as you keep to the fairways and greens. The only reason I rated the condition as four stars is because the course is still recovering from a hurricane that happened last week. Everything was really dry though, but there's still a good amount of debris.
Overall, Magnolia is a must play if you come down here. If you had to choose Magnolia or Lake Buena Vista, choose Magnolia. But if I were you, I would play them both.
Wonderful round of golf!
The course was in great shape, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the pace of play was great. Couldn’t ask for a better day. I would definitely play there again!
Disney golf
Never disappointed had a fun couple golf with me and my wife
If you want to play Disney, don’t play this one
The course was in bad shape. Lots of bare spots on the fairways and tee boxes. To add insult to injury, the staff treated us like we were widgets on an assembly line (except the starter). I travel to Orlando multiple times a year to play golf, and generally play Disney’s Palm course (which is usually in fantastic shape). If you’re looking to play golf at a really nice course, don’t spend the $175 cost of admission to play this one. Try Shingle Creek instead…a far better course for less money. If you want to (or must) play Disney, play the Palm instead.
Its Disney
Course is over priced in my opinion. Your paying more for the Disney name and not the course condition. Play was also slow we waited on the group in front of us for over half the holes.
Worth the price tag
What a great layout! Conditions were great and greens were fast. Disney service.
I will return.
This course is in great shape
The course was in great shape and had beautiful weather. My only problem is Disney as a whole. Been coming down to Disney and the area for going on 25 yrs.
Unfortunately Disney had priced out a lot of people for the greed of their executives. Luckily I’m able to afford this. But there are some less fortunate that would love to not just play golf here, but also make some fantastic family memories.
I will always remember my kids faces the first time coming here in ‘98. Still brings joy to my heart thinking of their first of many times.
Thank You

Great course if right price
Greens ran fine although the grass didn't look great because of some incroachment of what looked like rye grass. Slightly on the slow side, but pretty good overall.
Great layout with interesting holes, pleasant rangers. All together a good day. Prices are quite high.
Lowered rating a bit because of the look of the greens, not the playability.
Great course, worth the cost
Played here for the first time. Rented clubs and had an 8:30 tee time. Pace of play was great (less than 4 hrs) and the course was in awesome conditions. Best bunkers I’ve ever seen and greens were fast and rolled true.
Only negatives are: very poor selection of rental clubs available, and the GPS on the cart broke on the final 3 holes. Expensive course, but worth the price. Was shocked to see tax charged for the tee time. In California we don’t pay taxes on green fees, it’s just the fee and that’s it. Added an extra $20+ that I wasn’t expecting.
Nice Course in Good Condition
Only gave the course layout 3 stars because it comes too close to housing (villas & treehouses). The rest of the course was great and well maintained. The driving range quite small.
Forgettable layout
When I started the temperature was 60 degrees, sprinkling rain and very windy. It was 20 degrees cooler than the day before, and I wasn't dressed warmly enough for the front 9. By the back 9 it became sunny, but still windy.
I played the yellow tees. The tee boxes were in good shape, well covered with grass, but on several holes there was only one yellow marker and on one hole there were no yellow markers at all.
The fairways were only thinly covered with grass. This led to tight muddy lies and the fairway didn't offer much advantage over the matted-down rough. The lack of coverage may have to do with recent wet weather, but I read reviews saying other courses in the area don't have the same problem. Wispy, muddy fairways always make me think the course isn't draining well and conjure images of underfunded munis. LBV shouldn't be underfunded, given the high greens fees.
The bunkers had very little sand in them; this made getting out of fairway bunkers easy but made greenside bunkers very difficult until I resorted to a chipping stroke. I wonder whether rain has washed the sand out of the bunkers.
I thought the greens were in good condition and the ball rolled smoothly.
The layout is forgettable. It's flat and unimaginative - nothing leaps out as a clever use of terrain and it doesn't seem much earth was moved to make the course more interesting.
LBV is fine for a round of golf if you're at Disney for the parks and want a break, but it's not a course to play for a golf trip.
