Poor pace of play and golfer etiquette
The pace of play yesterday was super slow. We finished the course in 5hrs. There was a group of 4 in front of us that took their sweet time. There was also a twosome behind us that didn’t have great etiquette that hit balls toward us while we were on the green.
The grass all over the course is super long and we lost so many balls on the first cut and shallow rough areas. There were also a lot of brown patches that they were re-sodding which will probably look good in the future but it was a bit of an eyesore.
Would I play here again? If I weren’t paying, yeah.
Worth driving a few extra miles!
Course was well maintained for the most part. There are still patches "under repair" that can get in the way of play.
Enjoyed the day, would go again!
Disappointing
Been a few years since I last played this course, will not play it again. Horrible condition.
Happy golfer
Course was much cleaner compared to the last fall when I played there. I wish they would add hole signs for each hole with distance for different tee colors, like other golf course...currently you have to rely on your score card.
Course under repair
The upcoming additions of deep pot bunkers will be fun, but as of now there is a lot of grounds under repair, super dried out yellow fairways, and mud patches. The staff are great and the bar and pro shop are good. We saw the ‘cart girl’ 3x which is rare in courses around here. There is also no driving range which is a real bummer if you want to warm up pre-round.
Lots of fun terrible traffic
I have played this course perhaps 40+ times and have had a great time everytime. The current management has made many course improvements in the past few years which has enhanced the play and course. Pretty nice clubhouse and the pace of play usually good. The one drawback for me is I play with friends who reside close to the course. I have a 35 mile drive to the course from Maryland and the traffic is almost always unbearable. On this round we played the round in 3 hours 15 minutes. I spent 3 hours 30 minutes getting to and from the course.
Solid
Enjoyed a fun round with three super nice guys! Hope to run into them again. Will definitely play again once the three holes that are under repair are open again.
OVERPRICED
The management here has the audacity to charge $60+ for a course that’s still under construction, has no grass in the fairways or around the greens. It was literally like I was hitting from the mud/dirt every shot. I would pay maybe $40 for a course In this condition but because of the location they are taking advantage of people charging this much
Read the Course Warning! I didn't...
I should've read the course warning. Thought I would be playing 18 but played 15 as 3 holes are closed. Tee boxes are par, Fairway is bit less par, bogey. Greens were also bogey.
Last time I played here was 5 or 6 years ago so really Wanted come back to play here but condition wasn't good or even close to what I remembered.
Maybe another 3 or 4 months later?? It MIGHT be ok, par enough, I would think.
So, just make sure read or call ahead for condition of the course before you book!

The course didn’t have 18 holes. Only 17. Management didn’t tell customers.
Penderbrook Golf Club,
Hello,
We are sorry about this as the heavy rain the previous day washed out a bunker that had to be repaired. We did our best to inform all customers at check-in.
If you could please email info@penderbrookgolfclub.com to discuss it further that would be great.
Have a great day!
Hello,
We are sorry we did not meet your expectations. If you could please e-mail info@penderbrookgolfclub.com to give us more feedback that would be great.
Thanks
Reliably fun place to spend an afternoon
An interesting course, rewarding accuracy of shotmaking more than raw distance. Good use of water hazards and bunkers. The pro shop and restaurant provide very good service. The course snakes through a residential development, so play close attention. It would be a lot of walking if you choose not to rent a power cart. One complaint is the larger-than-usual number of cartpath-only holes, which slow down the pace of play. Definitely worth playing.
Hello,
Thank you for taking time to review us and we are glad you enjoyed your round!
Have a great day!
