Nicely challenging course
Some terrifying looking carries over water from championship tees but our group was playing off the whites, golds and reds, from where water came into play mainly when shots were not straight. Greens in good condition and medium fast. Some soggy spots around greens due to previous day heavy rain, but mostly drained well. Pretty and interesting course; saw wildlife including gators, deer and woodpecker. Needed to take a drop from a pair of stalks who would not move!
Enjoyable Round
Our foursome was pleasantly surprised that water was not a problem considering the amount of ponds. So we had an enjoyable round. The greens were very slow in comparison to other courses we’ve played and to have a sign that stated No water was allowed on the course seemed to be odd and a health issue due to Florida temperatures. First time we’ve seen that restriction.
Really enjoyed it
This course is really fun to play. It is friendly to the average golfer while the back tees offer a challenge to the lower handicappers. Plus, it is visually appealing once you are away from the clubhouse and practice facilities. Not quite up to date with gas carts and no GPS system, but that did not take away from our round. Plus, the birds and deer on the course more than made up for the lack of newer amenities. We will definitely play it again and will look for opportunities on GN to do so.
The course is in good shape. The pace of play was terrible!
First round for us post hurricane
Course in good shape considering. Some trees down but they are not in the way at all
Will Play Again.
Generally, the course is in good condition with nice green fairways and greens. The bunkers were well groomed as well. There is some leftover debris from the recent hurricane, but that is understandable and we just played around it. After the round the Reuben Sandwich and cool glass of Pinot Grigio hit the spot. I'll play here again soon.
Problems
Course is in generally good condition for what it is. Layout fine. Greens are flat with little challenge. Main problem: nothing to be brought on course and no cooler. Water very limited along course with 2 fountains not operating. Management seems poor - these are issues easily fixed
