Could be GREAT, but pace of play is horrible.
I liked this course. The setup, the elevation changes, the different types of holes (uphill, downhill, dogleg right and left, short par 4s, long par 4s). There's a good variety of holes. Conditions were above average. Staff was friendly, and we even ordered food before our round (Cuban Sandwich--4 out of 5 stars). Overall, I really like this place. So why the 3 stars? PACE OF PLAY. I have played this course 3 times, and EVERY TIME it comes to a grinding halt after a few holes. Why? This is one of the more affordable golf options in Sparks, and for whatever reason some of the people that play this course think they should play the Blue Tees, which have a 71.6 Rating and a 130 Slope. On top of that it can get windy here, along with some severe elevation changes. I saw a guy in front of me take 3 full shots to get on the green on a par 3.....He (and his entire group) should be playing from the white tees. So that is why EVERY ROUND here is 5+ hours. There are too many newbies that come here that have too big of an ego to move forward 1 set of tees. Save yourself the frustration and just go somewhere else. Course conditions are nice here, but who cares about conditions if the round is 5+ hours, even on a weekday.
Great irons practice
In solid shape given the season. Greens are surprisingly quick given the morning frost lately. We'll definitely be back
Fun
This little course is super fun and worth the money no doubt.
