Barony at Port Royal Golf Club
About
The Barony Course at Port Royal Golf Club constitutes 18 of this well-known island facility's 54 holes.
Playing to just 6,543 yards from the gold tees, Barony is a very enjoyable course for all skill levels. The back nine in particular is a fine mix of long and short holes. Like its sister courses at Port Royal, Barony begins and ends at the club's beautiful Antebellum-style clubhouse.
From the tee, many of the holes on Barony appear to be relatively open. But as you approach the green the real challenge of the course becomes clear. The greens are small and protected by deep bunkers and Bermuda rough, demanding an excellent touch with the medium and short irons. This is a course where accuracy, not length is the key factor.

Civil War Campground Golf
Robbers Row has an awesome clubhouse with a fully stocked pro-shop.
There is also a restaurant with great food located here.
This golf course is well maintained with great greens and sand traps.
This is a popular layout so an early tee off is suggested.
This course is located in a historic civil war encampment and there are historic markers located throughout the golf course.
They opened Robbers Row in 1967 then had a major redesign by Pete Dye in 1994.
There's plenty of shot making challenges here.
There were two other golf courses here at Port Royal, Barony and Planters Row. Unfortunately, hurricane Matthew destroyed Planters Row last October.
Eric in the pro shop was an amazing guy and a great representative of Port Royal.
Fred the starter is good at his job and handled the delay professionally, he was a fun guy.
The course is a fine collection of challenging holes with well kept fast and tricky greens.
Some of the fairways are badly torn up by duffers who do not fill their divots.
They have a super friendly cart girl who makes frequent rounds with a cheerful smile.
We even saw a marshall who let us know about the pump issues on hole #12,
Because we started early we never encountered other players. We were able to finish in 3.5
hours, This is a fun course and we look forward to playing here next year.
We met Ben the head professional he is from Indianapolis and a great representative of Port Roal Golf. We had some issues with missing headgear and Ben was very helpful in finding them for us.
Port Royal Barony
Friendly staff, great course, good pace of play, and reasonable rates.
Short Game
Greens were moderately quick, fairly easy to read with breaks taking hold near the hole as putts slowed. Greens were generally elevated and well bunkered.
Fair amount of water, some hidden.
Don't need to be long but tree lined fairways will gobble up slices and hooks.
Very enjoyable course that makes you think. Must be good with the wedges or you won't score.
Fantastic Experience all around
Course was in good condition, staff was friendly and incredibly helpful. The GM was absolutely awesome. They picked the right person for the role.
