Tees and fairways in pretty good shape. Greens okay. Some pretty quick, some not as much.

Was able to play a lot of different shots.

#6 was very cool. Shorter par 3 with Atlantic in background.

Loved this course! We played in the afternoon and thought it would be hot. However, there was a nice breeze blowing the whole round. The course was in excellent shape - greens were great and the many sand traps were well maintained. I highly recommend this course.

The greens were slick and hard and probably running 12 on the stimp meter. A beautiful layout that required some shot making. The course was in need of water however. It didn't compare to the lushness of Old South. But the greens were better at Oyster Reef. The staff was friendly and I would return here the next time I visit Hilton Head.

The course is still recovering from the hurricane but coming along nicely. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was fabulous after the round. We played on a "Hot Deal" and the value was good.

Played Oyster Reef twice within 3 days. Both times staff were friendly and welcoming. The course layout has several doglegs. Hitting a driver is not required on every tee shot. I really enjoyed playing this course because it required shot shaping and shot placement. The par 5's (from the white tees) are reachable in two shots if you are accurate. If you're not, bring your pail and shovel because you'll be spending lots of time "on the beach". Have your camera ready for the par 3 sixth hole...great looking hole. The course was in good shape. They've done a great job in recovering the course from the impact of Hurricane Matthew.

Welcoming and friendly staff, decent clubhouse with good food.

The course itself is an interesting layout with many doglegs menaing that you have to think about the tee shot rather than just balsting away with the driver. Really smooth and quick greens.

I would recommend.

Enjoyed playing Oyster Reef very much. The only issue were the fairways were dry . And most shots were like hitting off hard pack. The greens were well watered and putted true. Overall a pleasant experience.

Oyster Creek was our third round of the week. We previously played Palmetto Hall (Hills) and Shipyard. Oyster Reef was by far the nicest course and, without question, was the best conditioned course of the three. Some Hilton Head courses were badly damaged in the October 2016 hurricane (Matthew) and, six months on, there is still evidence of damage on all of the courses. Both Shipyard and Palmetto Hall course fairways were very dry (apparently it's hardly rained in months in Hilton Head) and there was next to no grass on the Pametto Hall fairways.

Pace of play at Oyster Reef was great. We arrived fifteen minutes ahead of our 2.04pm tee time and was told we could go straight out. As a two ball, we finished the front nine in 1 1/2hrs. The second nine was a little slower (2hrs) as we were behind a three-ball, however 3 1/2hrs to play 18 was a fantastic bonus.

There are lots of good holes on the Oyster Reef course. Their signature hole, the par-3 6th was a beauty . Overall the front nine was much nicer than the back, which has a couple of par-3's that seemed a little out of place (design-wise) compared to the rest of the course. Overall, the course was great and we would definitely add it to our "must play" list when we next return to Hilton Head.

This is one lowcountry course that doesn't have much water but LOTS of sand. In March, there is also lots of roll so even accurate shots may wind up there. Course was in good shape...they are still recovering from Hurricane Matthew...replacing cart paths and some debris in the trees but it was still a pleasure to play.

The course is stil suffering from hurricane Matthew but the staff was very accommodating. I believe they realize the inconvenience the clean up is causing. They might want to offer some specials to get return players.
