The course has had some needed upgrades since a new owner took over ~ a year ago.

Pros: The teeboxes, fairways and greens now have grass. The bathrooms are nicely upgraded, and the carts are all new. The new owner is likeable, approachable and is working hard to improve a course that needs lots more TLC.

Cons: The oak trees are way overgrown, and on many fairways, it is almost impossible to not hit into trees, sandtraps or water. This course can be irratating if you cannot hit long and very accurate. The sandtraps still contain sand that can be rock-hard when it is dry. The cartpaths are shot and need replacing. Finally, some of the waitstaff/bar staff at The Wedge, are negative, complain about the changes/upgrades presently occuring to the entire operation, and display irratation with "It's too crowded" when there are only 3 or 4 people in the entire "Wedge" (Restaurant and bar). And those 2 particular ladies will let patrons know that they are having a bad day, and you will have to tolerate their bad attitudes.

In conclusion, for the price and lack of a crowd (No shock to any of us that the place is usually desolate) it is an OK place to play golf. Forget spending time and money in The Wedge, it will dampen your spirit.

Played this course for years. Course conditions the last few years have been brutal but new ownership has really helped. Greens and surrounding areas are much better and clubhouse has been partially redone. Still much more work to be done but moving in the right direction.

The tee boxes and greens were in good condition but the greens were very slow. Some of the out of towners that I was paired with called them "furry". Fairways were fair at best though the sand traps were in good condition. Based on the layout, it wil never be a premier course but if you are just interested in swinging the sticks and not real particular about course conditions, you can add this one to your list.

Played this course in the afternoon by myself because wife went shopping. Got an excellent deal with GN hot deal. The pro shop gentleman was super friendly and let me out by myself. Finished the round in less than 3.5 hours. The new owner has put good effort the course with one of the best greens in the Orlando area. Fairway and tee boxes still need improvements. The value for money was extremely good with a good layout.

All in all the course was in pretty good shape. There were two greens that need some attention. But the fairways were OK. The pace of play "REALLY SUCKED" The guy behind the counter let a group of members out ten minutes before our tee time. The group of members played a seven some in six carts. So every hole we had to wait for seven people to tee off. Then they drove all over like a bunch of ants laughing and playing around with no regards for the line of people behind them. And even with signs posted they still drove there carts all around the greens so they didn't have to walk. Now we are not talking senior citizens nor handicap people. These people should have their memberships yanked. Then go to a golf educate class. And the guy behind the counter should take a better look at his books and not allowed it all to happen!!!!

Value for the money was highly diminished because of the terrible pace of play. Two groups ahead of us were a group of 6 people (most probably members) in five different carts, some in personal carts. These people had no golf etiquette and did not care about the delay they caused to the afternoon players. Now this is not the first we see this happening on this course. Totally unacceptable, this prevents us from returning to play this otherwise very plaisant course.

Wish the administration would see fit to fix this big problem now after having improved the course conditions.

Nice course to play, it is coming back from being not taken care of. My playing partners have played here a lot and gave me some of it's background. New ownership is fixing up the place nicely. New clubhouse and restrooms there are very nice. The course is still needing some work, especially on cart paths and such, but the course and greens are good. Good experience and had a hole in one on #4 to boot!

very average layout in decent condition; a few uneven tee boxes. greens looked in good condition, but may be the slowest I've played since starting out on sand putting areas 50+ years ago. we were sent out early as a large group of members was about to start, but when we reached the back nine(this plays like a links course), we caught a foursome of 80-somethings & had to wait until finally asking to skip a par 3 hole as it was obvious these guys weren't going to invite us to play through. course is long for seniors and ladies, 6000 & 5400 yards, respectively. would play here again.

All things are taking a turn for the better at Wedgefield including the course, pro shop, bar/restaurant, memberships and of the course. The new owner has made improvements ever since taking over in May 2016, including improved irrigation and tending to the greens where the balls are rolling better than can be remembered for the last 6-8 years.

Wedgefield will never be confused with Tranquilo or Bella Collina but if you're looking for a competitive course at a good rate it's worth the play. Greens in great shape but slow. Fairways had some rough spots which can be solved by a gentle roll of the ball. All in all, a recommendation is in order as long as you don't have high expectations

I couldn't turn down the price golfnow was offering to play this course. I pay that much for a large bucket of balls! The greens were excellent, fast, well manicured and a bit tricky to get the speed down. Fairways at this time of the year in FL always need to be worked on due to the lack of rain. A lot of the greens protected by bunkers and need to carry your shot in order to get on the green from a good distance. I'll play it again for sure.

Had good reviews on GA. Couldn't turn down the HotDeals green fee price. 25 minute drive from Cocoa, FL. Nice electric carts, the young lady in the pro shop was very nice and made you feel welcomed. The range was adequate as were the balls. Played as a single, course was in average shape, fairways need more time to fill in, the greens were in great shape, but slow and a bit shaggy. Played thru a few seniors and the back 9 was very slow with seniors playing the front tees. Decided to quit after #12 due to the slow pace and time of day, but drove by all of the remaining holes to see the layout the next time I come here play. Good course to work on your game.

Wedgefield GC is worth playing !

This course has been under new ownership this year and has come a long way . The conditions have improved immensely from earlier this year . From a newly renovated club house and pro shop, to the great new growth and renovation of the greens, fairways and tee boxes .The brand new golf carts make it an even better experience.

The value for your money is worth the drive from Orlando.

The course is improving every month and is a pleasure to play . It is still young in its rebirth , as it matures it will only get better.

Craig and his staff have done a FANTASTIC job and have really taken ownership to give this course new life . They work everyday to make it a great experience for the golfers.

COME PLAY WEDGEFIELD!

The new ownership has gotten the course in very good shape. The greens are 100% better than they have been in a decade and will only get better and better. This golf course will be 5 star by next year, currently a 4 star. It is worth every penny as the ownership hasn't overpriced it. You will use every club in the bag as this layout is the best in east Orlando.

Food is good. Staff very friendly. Come play the "best course to be in east Orlando" in the very near future (the conditions will rival Bay Hill as the new owner spent a decade working in Spain on European PGA golf facilities and is an agronomy graduate from Michigan St)

It has been a few years since I played Wedgefield and it is obvious that the new management has put money and effort into making this an enjoyable course. The greens are excellent, the course layout is forgiving, and while it is a bit long for my game these days, there are those Gold tees if I choose to move to them. My 3 sons and I enjoyed the day thoroughly. Even the burgers were great. It's a only 20 minute drive from Oviedo and well worth the drive.
