Amateur hour
Pace of play might have been the slowest I’ve ever been apart off. I understand that no one starts out being great at golf. Definitely takes time and practice but when you’re putting the ball up the fairway, you should know to let people play through. And just because the group in front of you is also putting the ball up the fairway and you’re staying with them does not mean you don’t have to let a single golfer play through. Took me 4.5 hours to play 18 by myself when I normally can play a round in about 3 hours. The course was in awesome shape. There was quite a few spots that were muddy when it’s been nothing but sunshine for the last 3-4 days but besides that beautiful course. Greens are possible the nicest in the area besides RTJ.
Pace of play
The course itself is fantastic but the pace of play is so slow at times that it kills the round.
Great municipal golf course, very well maintained.
Stuck in the 70s
What is there to say, it's a muni. But its stuck in 1978, narrow fairways, overgrown trees everywhere, traps where the overgrown trees aren't and all around the greens. This is 2020, it's time to change this layout. 4 along the swamp needs to be revamped. 6 needs to be demolished and rethought, get rid of the trees on the left to start. And 15 is a sh!# show
Wanted to have a good time.
I got a ”hot deal” and was unfortunately only able to play 3 holes due to rain. I go into the pro shop and asked if I could receive a rain check because everyone else was receiving one for the day due to rain. Once it was my turn I was told because I used this website to book I was not able to receive a rain check, also golf now is the hardest company to come into contact with. I’m just glad at this point I didn’t pay full price.
My Review
Greens were probably aerated very recently. Many holes. Greens weren’t the best, but the course was very good and green. I played 18 in about 2 hours with a cart. Fast pace. A good, long driving range, a practice putting green with some different holes, a practice bunker, and a chipping green were present at the course. 2 thumbs up. Very good.
Great!!
The course and greens were in great shape!! If we ever get back to this area, I will look forward to playing Lagoon Park again.
Tee time delay - good muni - slow
I rushed to arrive ahead of my golf now tee time. The attendant in the shop said golf now times should not have been available and he would get me on the course after a while since he had an outing ahead of me. I went off about 45 minutes late paired with a single and behind several 4somes so play was slow. The course was fantastic in layout and condition for a muni. The carts and clubhouse live down to expectations. I’ll go back for the course but I’ll book Direct next time and get a better rate too
