Executive Course vs. Pitch and Putt
We drove by the Lomas Santa Fe Executive course the other day and it looked very pretty from the road so we thought we'd give it a try. It's connected to the full size and private Lomas Santa Fe Country Club so we figured it would be pretty good, for an executive layout. And it was okay. A nice setting, good conditions (other than the very chewed up and occasionally uneven tee boxes) and what appeared initially to be a good variety of holes. However, I wound up hitting the same 52* wedge on 6 or 7 holes that played the same distances despite having a 15-20 yard difference on the score card. There were 16 par 3s and 2 par 4s (both less than 300 yards). There are a few other executive courses in the San Diego area. Tecolote Canyon was pretty beat up everywhere when I played a couple of years ago and Mission Bay was pretty flat and dull. LSF is the best of the three, by far.
Great time
Staff friendly course was green . Greens were perfect. Weather was awesome. The marshal was passing out homemade cookies.
awesome short course
if you're looking for a quick round Lomas Sante Fe a perfect place to sharpen your game.
greens were true and fast, lots of bunkering if you miss the green. 1st time I played, will definitely go back for more.
18th and 10th
18th lake area need mud improvement. 18th tee off needs leveling, help.
17th par3 ! Really short, rolling hills confusing. All greens were much improved nice
A great place to perfect your short game.
This was my first time playing this course. The course was easy to find, and parking was plentiful. When we arrive, we went to the pro shop to check in and the gentleman behind the counter, epitomized quality customer service. He helped us with a few tips for the course and had a great demeanor which helped prepare for the round ahead. The course was in excellent condition from the practice putting green to each fairway. Some of the tea boxes were in need of attention, but this is to be expected on a par three course where irons are constantly being hit. The layout of the course gave some good challenge, and the addition of the two par fours was a pleasant surprise. I would highly recommend you check out this course, if you were looking for a quick round and some short game work.
Terrific short course
Beautiful piece of land. Ocean views and the conditions are nice. Can back up and the grill is kind of lackluster but the grounds are terrific and you can get through a round in a couple hours if you’re first out
Ambassador/marshall really rude
Ambassador/marshall came to us really rude demanding us to play faster. The problem was that we weren’t the group backing everyone up… it was 2 groups ahead. We tried to explain and he was very rude and didn’t even let us talk. He later came back with a different attitude since he realized it wasn’t us holding everyone up. Even then, he didn’t apologize for his attitude toward us.
Nice Executive coarse in Lomas Santa Fe.
As stated in my star ratings, the staff, course conditions and pace of play were all excellent. I'm a high handicapper and used the round to challenge my iron play and short game. The staff was great and the facilities were great of a little post-play refreshment. We will be back...
Slow Twilight weekend play
The threesome ahead of us were sharing 1 set of clubs and this made playing very slow. We started at 5 and only were able to enjoy 9 holes before it got dark
