River Oaks Golf Club
About
River Oaks Golf Club stretches across more than 800 scenic acres along the Intracoastal Waterway. The Course begins with the shortest of the three nines and finishes with the longest. The final hole on the front nine presents one of the most interesting risk-reward opportunities on the golf course. You can aim for the right bunker for an open shot at the green or try a long drive down the left side for a short approach. River Oaks Golf Clubs' Otter nine has several challenges in store including mounding, strategically placed bunkers, and tricky water hazards.

OK course - slow play
Greens have a major problem with diseased patches. Our round was spoiled by having to play behind a 3-ball who kept us waiting for every shot. One course ranger sped past without coming near us - why was he out there if not to keep the course moving? The 3 ball had lost 2 holes on the players in front!!! We were very lucky that one of them dropped out at the turn and the couple let us through on the 10th. Hard to review a course positively when it was so slow! Husband is a single figure golfer too - not fun for us.
River Oaks
The only change I would suggest is tee change. Difference between white tees and next tees up are roughly 1000 yards. Move whites up a little and other tees back a little so gap is around 500 yards between the two tees. Whites are a little long for us 70 plus boys and next tees up to short.
Fun course, Good value
Played Fox/Otter nines. Great staff, excellent driving range. Course varied and interesting. Step bridge between 9s was a thrill. Would definitely play again. Good condition.
Even though it rained the customer service was excellent.
River Oak
Great course for the cost. Course was in great shape!
First round of spring
Happened to be staying near this course.
Fairways and greens were in very good shape. Many bunkers were washed out. It appeared staff has been working on them.
It was good value for the money.
Great staff.
Will play again.
