About
River Oaks Golf Club stretches across more than 800 scenic acres along the Intracoastal Waterway. The Course begins with the shortest of the three nines and finishes with the longest. The final hole on the front nine presents one of the most interesting risk-reward opportunities on the golf course. You can aim for the right bunker for an open shot at the green or try a long drive down the left side for a short approach. River Oaks Golf Clubs' Otter nine has several challenges in store including mounding, strategically placed bunkers, and tricky water hazards.

Not worth it
We played 9 holes today and on the 2nd hole there were 3 4somes waiting on the tee! The 9 holes took 2 hrs 40 minutes. When I went into the pro shop to complain I was told that they couldn't understand my issue and I need to understand that they are busy and one should expect 5 to 5.5 hour rounds. With that attitude, there is no point in discussing any further since anything beyond 4 hours 15 minutes, 4:30 at the most is inexcusable and to suggest otherwise is simply abusing golfers for the sake of increased revenue. We will not be back again.
Fairways and greens in excellent shape
Course was in excellent shape. Very polite staff. Would definitely return.
Hidden Gem at Myrtle Beach
I've been playing golf in Myrtle Beach for over 30 years and had never heard of River Oaks. I discovered them through the Golf Now app and booked a time while I was in town for work. Let me just say this course (actually 3 9 hole courses, I believe) was fantastic. Great layout, tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in immaculate condition, the staff was fantastic, and the weather could not have been much better. My only gripe was a SUPER slow four some who at one point had three groups waiting behind them. It took me 2 1/2 hrs to play the front as a single. I was able to pass them at the turn and after that, it could not have been much more perfect. I finished the back 9 in about 1 hr 45 minutes. I'll definitely be back!

We played River Oaks 3 times in April.
it does get a bit busy, but manageable.
Only complaint is the bunkers on most holes are not playable. tee-boxes, fairways, and greens all in good shape.
Remember this is a 55-75 dollar course. Not 100+ dollars.
River Oaks
The only change I would suggest is tee change. Difference between white tees and next tees up are roughly 1000 yards. Move whites up a little and other tees back a little so gap is around 500 yards between the two tees. Whites are a little long for us 70 plus boys and next tees up to short.
