#7 Par 4 Dogleg Right Photo submitted by jmc1958 on 04/03/2015
New owners need to step up.
This course was apparently taken over by Vargo earlier this year, and it shows. The greens are terrible. It seems like every green rolls a different speed. The rough can be anywhere from an inch tall to 5 inches tall. The tees don't match up to the scorecards. It's pretty rough. It looks like Vargo is making cuts in all the wrong places.
Good conditions
Nice course.. Slow pace of play. Would play again.
Golfing Whispering Pines
Really enjoyed golfing this course! Nice long fairways and some challenging par 3s! It was very busy and pace of play was fine till last 4 holes, which took our overall time well over 4 hours, going close to 5 hours. Regardless, would play again! Starter was very welcoming and entertaining!
Not Female Friendly
Inside counter individuals very friendly. But starter was not interested in us 4 females. We brought our clubs to starter and placed them in rack and we waited. He was chatting with a 'male foursome' and did not acknowledge us at all. A car of males drove up. He proceeded to help them get clubs out. After finishing with them, he finally walked over to us and took our receipts and loaded our clubs in our carts. We were not happy with the situation.
Nice Track
Course was a bit dry but very good condition for this tine of year. Greens were good shape, course is a great parkland style. Would play again
Whispering Pines not so friendly southern course.
Booked a round through golf now. Pro shop staff treats non South Carolinians with a negative attitude. Bag fro/starter was friendly. Course was in nice shape
slow play; clubhouse closed at rounds end
1:40 tee off, but delayed start.....finished around 7:00 pm with many groups still on the course, but clubhouse facilities including restrooms were closed at conclusion of round. Which was weird.
Hello, gmhMbzymFu7qTMKnPH7G. Thank you for leaving us a review. We are sorry to hear your experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you will give us another try in the future. Thank you for choosing Whispering Pines Golf Course.
Good experience overall
Staff was very friendly. Slow pace of play throughout the round. Small greens with lots of water. Challenging course.
No one knows what’s going on
Start told us to wait he added a fourth then he said to hang on because they were going to add a fifth then he told us forget about it go ahead we got down to the first Fairway He came down and said you got a speed up because you’re holding up everybody Then he came back after the second hole and took the fourth out and paid them with somebody else which made us even later it’s not a bad course if you’re flying out there and go right to the airport other than that no thanks
Good value
I enjoyed playing this course. Nothing particularly spectacular but a good value for Myrtle Beach these days and the course was in good shape, other than the bunkers which were hard packed. Some very interesting holes to challenge your shotmaking ability.
Excellent course for the price
Thoroughly enjoy playing this course. Since we are from Canada, we only get to Myrtle Beach once a year and always book at least one round of golf at Whispering Pines. Staff are fantastic and course layout is great. Looking forward to our next round of golf at Whispering Pines.
Western PA Golfer
Course was in good shape for time of year. Squirrels are a pain as they kept getting in the carts and stealing stuff. Airforce kept taking off and was exciting to watch. F16 or F22's not sure.
This reviewer is incorrect. I believe he meant this as a review of another like names course. We are not managed by that company (I never heard of it), our greens are absolutely perfect and in the time he mentioned it was winter here and we would have zero rough... I hope he notices and deletes his comments. They are not accurate hence not fair. Thanks
