Good Course Overall
Nice course layout, greens and fairways in average condition for February. Good value.
Very playable
For high handicap player it is fun and challenging with a chance of scoring well.
Great value for the (🇨🇦) dollar!
I will start off by saying, I’m not a very good golfer, but my love for the game grows with each passing day.
My son decided to join me last minute and Whispering Pines was more than happy to oblige! I’ve been trying to convince him to come out with me for some time, and all of a sudden he surprised me.
The course was challenging for us, but definitely something we could handle.
The gentleman that we were partnered up with (Dennis ?) was also a Canadian and he was great to play with. He did not offer any unsolicited advice and he shared a laugh with us as we got our money’s worth ‘all over the course’. As he had mentioned, this is a gentleman’s game, and a gentleman he was.
The greens were a little bumpy, even for a hacker like me, but as Dennis said, ‘I’ve paid more for courses that weren’t as good.’ I can say I’ve done the same.
Overall, if you are happy to be golfing at this time of the year for a more than reasonable price, Whispering Pines is the place to go!
I’m hoping to get out here one more time before heading back home.
A great layout but the greens leave a lot to be desired
If you like to play a course for the layout this ones for you. The greens are not nearly as good as the layout and the routing. I completely enjoyed my round inspite of the poor greens. The base is there but at this time they are inundated with poa. For shot value and genuine shot making challenges its it's great.
They charged tax additionally
They charged $3 tax addition to $39 which is due at course per Golfnow.
They don't have clean green throughout the course.
Can't beat this course for the fees. it's winter but in fairly decent shape. Staff is excellent.
We’ll be back!
Played 18 holes in less than warm weather but found the course to be challenging and well groomed. Realized after we left that our Garmin GPS was still in the cart. Contacted the staff next morning and they found it for us. Great job guys!
Good Course
We had a good round of golf and the course was in good condition for this time of year. Would go again, if we have enough time and would recommend it to others
February conditions
Greens are pretty bumpy. Very inexpensive and gets lots of play. Several really fun holes
Slow play and poor Greens
The slow play on this course ruined this day of play.
They booked a lady's tournament which the ladies in front of us took half an hour to play each hole.
Greens were in poor condition and unable to make any puts with all the bumpiness.
Course had a nice layout but absolutely no ball washing facilities on the carts or at each hole!
With the choice of many golf courses in the Myrtle Beach area this would not be on my top 20 list.
Half Hour a hole huh? That is from dawn to dusk... LOL
