Wet Conditions
The layout of the course is very nice but the conditions were very wet. I asked one of the workers and he said that they had over seeded everywhere and they were watering every day. I guess that what made the conditions so wet.
Worth the trip, if the course is quiet!
So, the course has obviously benefited from some money that has been well spent. The course has been upgraded in my opinion and is a very interesting layout with plenty of challenges whatever tees you play from which is a great advantage. When we played the course was in good condition with very good greens and fairly lush fairways. Practice facilities for your pre round warm up are good as is the putting green. The staff, both professional and bar, are excellent and courteous. The clubhouse is not of the palatial type as per Barefoot but is welcoming and friendly. BUT, as usual the course suffers from the curse of Myrtle Beach Golf, SLOW PLAY😡😡
It should not be taking 5 1/2 hours to play 18 holes of golf and ‘replays’ should not be interfering with 18 holers!
On the day we played on the front 9 , our back nine, there were 3 four balls and one 3 ball waiting to play a par 5!
It was so bad we drove in from there curtailing our round to 14 holes😡. This course does seem to suffer from large group bookings from MB hotels etc. If your not part of a large group with pre booked times I would suggest phoning for the best time to play and have a better playing experience. If you can do that you will have an enjoyable round of 4nrs!
Worth the trip fromMB South,
The round was cursed by the slow play which is sadly preeminent in Myrtle Beach😡. Course etiquette is non existent which is another feature of American golf😡. I don’t think most vacationers have any knowledge of ‘call through’ or any idea of how to play at a reasonable pace. Letting faster groups through can save them 30-40 minutes on their round! Yes we are on vacation but it should never be acceptable to take 5 hours+ to play a round of golf in a buggy…EVER,!! Players need to be aware,of all players not just their group!
That said the course was in great condition and the greens were also good👍. No fault with staff and I had a Frank exchange about the above with the Pro!!!!!! Depending on where you are staying on the Beach the course is well worth a visit.4 Stars if it wasn’t for the curse of slow play!
Hidden gem
Amazing the improvements that have been made. Worth the trip out to Loris SC
All good
Played around 10am on a windy Thursday. Course is overall in very good shape, even if it was path only due to yesterday's rain. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are as good, as they can be during this time of the season. Staff was friendly. Pace of play was overall good, even if we we got stuck as a twosome between foursomes and the walking from the paths to the ball extended the playing time. The layout is nice, with narrowing fairways between big trees. All greens are shaped like a turtle, so you never get an easy approach shot or put. GPS with green information would be the only chance to score well, if you don't know the course. But carts are basic. Overall worth the trip and the money!
The course was good. cart path only...
the pace was extremely slow.. seem to be one four some that should have been told to speed up.... 5 1/2 hours was slow.
Good value for the buck! Many courses have become overpriced but no obvious upgrades to warrant the noticeable increase in price.
Challenging but fair
Found the course challenging but fair, was in good condition, however there was only 1 employee working to get everyone off, which caused chaos as we were left standing there wondering when we’re going to get off, turns out about 1/2 hr late.
Slow Play
Strongly suggest not to book on a Wednesday. Ladies league!! Caused huge backlog. Course is in fair condition
