The course was in very good shape. Some may be put off by the dormant colour but the conditions were good and the greens were quick. Golf was a little slow (4:20) and we had an early AM tee time. Course is easy to get to from the strip and though I am not a big fan of Nicklaus design work I would return.

A long drive out the course it is on the far west side of the valley close to the mountains. Give yourself a good half hour from downtown or the strip.

Drove up to the bag drop area and a very pleasant guy welcomed us to the course, put our bags on the cart and took them to the range area, also the same guy came to the range and took us to the first tee at our tee time.

Checked in at the clubhouse for a 11:50 tee time, check in was quick, he found my reservation that was prepaid on golf now ($55 hot deal) welcomed us to the course and showed us out to the range.

The range was very large, nice putting green and practice area, made for a nice warm up.

We were a 2 some and they paired us with a couple other guys and it made for a nice pace of play. Every tee box had at least 4 sets of tees and we played from the white.

The fairways were in great shape and the greens were very smooth. The greens weren't too fast, but down hillers will get away from you if you dont pay attention. The sand traps were almost perfect, a little firm which to me is great. A couple greens had black sand which looked really good against the green grass. The rough wasnt too thick and you have to account for fliers. Every hole on the course was in great shape.

Pace of play was good, the round took about 4 hours and 15 minutes. There was a 5 some a couple groups ahead of us holding things up a bit but they were moving as quick as 5 can, so no complaint there.

This is a great golf course with a very pleasant staff and though the weather was a bit cool it was a great winter golf experience.

We got the hot deal at a good price but I would be glad to play at the normal golfnow price which is about $109 during the week. A top notch facility with a wonderful staff, Jack should be quite pleased at how well this place is run since his name is on it. Will be making this a normal stop on our Vegas trips.

Player Tip: Very important that you play the right tees. Tee shots are pretty tough and if you are further back than you should be it will make for a tough round.

It seemed that the course had a lot of traffic on it. The fairways and greens were in pretty bad conditions. It did not appear that anyone repaired their ball marks. I was disappointed with the overall condition of the course.

"A very neat concept".
The course was fun but not overly difficult and not too long from the white tees. Even an average golfer can score well if you can "aim" and come close to your targets. 4 sets of tee boxes give lots of choices for your drives and degree of difficulty. If you don't get a "deal" or a Golf Now price, the regular price is "too expensive", in my opinion. We got on for $120 at 7:30 AM on a holiday weekday and I felt it was worth that.

A 20-minute drive from the Strip leads to a unique collection of replica holes from Jack Nicklaus courses throughout North America. Castle Pines in Colorado. Palmilla, El Dorado and Cabo del Sol in Mexico. Old Works in Montana. They're all here. This style leads to wild swings in personality - desert holes with giant waste areas, others with black-sand bunkers and a par 5 with pines lining the fairway. The beautiful setting is highlighted by incredible multi-million-dollar homes, views of the Strip and a cool climb toward the mountains on the back nine.
The challenges are difficult, especially the first and last holes on each of the nines. The bermuda rough lining deep bunkers is wiry and unpredictable. Desert misses are unforgiving. Nicklaus will probably win in the end, but most golfers will enjoy trying to beat Jack.

I was initially apprehensive because of the price, but it was a very good value compared to what I paid for playing a course just north of Vegas the day before.

Great facility, but followed an outing which was a little hard on the course. First time here, and was told by my playing partner, they used to have more interactive GPS system, telling about the history of each hole. The golf carts were recently renewed and didn't have the GPS on board yet. And there wasn't any course info available as an alternative I'm going back to try the course again, hopefully with a better knowledge of the course.

We are visitors and we recently played the Bear's Best in Las Vegas. Currently , I would not recommend that anybody play the course - it has recently been over seeded and no carts are allowed on the fairways. In addition, they have new power carts and they have not installed the GPS system on any of them. We have played this course several times and this was the worst experience of golf we had - also, they charged us extra money to move our tee time up to accommodate a tournament - thought that was a tacky thing to do given finding out the condition of the course and GPS SITUATION!! Would have never played it knowing what the conditions were. Lesson learned - always ask the conditions before playing these courses!!!

I loooooove this course. Great layout, perfect greens, challenging but getable. Best scenery in the city...great practice area. Very friendly and timely bev cart girl. Wish I could play every day here! Even though it was cart path only, (over seeding) the fairways were nearly immaculate. Hardly an unrepaired divot or ball mark to be found. Will definitely play here again.

"cool" course with a lot of different hole styles. However, this does manage to feel like a congruent course. First tee shot can be a Bear, but the course plays fair and keeps you guessing. There are some really good holes and the greens where on great shapr post the rye overseed. I would play here again.
