Great overall course
Very helpful and accommodating starter.
Immaculate fairways.
Well manicured green.
Will play any time.
Great time at Spririt of the Landing!
We really enjoy playing at the Landing. It's the only link style course that I know of in St. Louis. I love the wide fairway and speedy greens.
Good overall STL golf course
Fairways in good shape, greens were blotchy with some fungus/brown spots and some holes had many un-repaired divot marks. Greens are big and somewhat challenging. Overall, it's a good course to play for a novice to intermediate golfer.
Quick Round...
3 of us teed off at 3:00 and we walked off the course at 6:15 (18 holes in a little over 3 hours). This made all of our wives extremely happy. Really never felt rushed either. Course was in great shape. Can play easy IF you keep the ball in play. Once on the green is when the challenge comes. Greens were fast with a lot of character to them. Enjoyable Round was had by all.
Good deal.
Received a fair deal on the golf including cart. The greens at this course are extremely undulating and difficult. Good ball placement is a must.
High price
Paid 59$ for a links like course. Except the tall grasses for the most part had been cut very short resembling a crew cut by the worlds worst barber.
Greens were challenging.. Distances were well marked. Holes were almost identical, kind of boring. Paying for food at starter, I'd be embarrassed if I was the owner.
Too much $ for the unimpressive course. Go play gateway instead.
Cart staff are RUDE
Came in from playing 9 holes with my 10 year old son and the cart staff accused my son of taking a divot out of the 7th green!!! When I explained to the rude cart guy that was completely false he said someone had reported it. When I asked him who reported it he would not tell me which leads me to believe it was his fellow cart guy was was behind us and quit because of the pace of play. I told him we should drive back out to the scene of the crime and we could find the divot. "Oh no we don't have to do that." In the last 15 years this is not my first run in with these folks, they are rude and arrogant and think they know more than anyone else. In reality these guys don't know the difference between a hosel and a ferrule.
Friendly, friendly, friendly
This was the first time I have played this course. It was in great shape. The staff is very friendly. Plus, for the first time in a long time, I saw a marshall on a course and he was doing his job. He was trying to keep the pace up. Very good place to play.
Wide Open
Maybe it was the threat of hot weather that kept people away but we played a twosome, never caught anyone and were never pushed. It was country club golf :)
Course was in great shape as always. Got a great deal on golfnow. Staff was very friendly. Got there early to warm up and had a really good round.
All in all, about as perfect a day of golf as it could be. I'll be coming back.
Hot Deal is the way to go
Excellent course, but only worth it because we got a hot deal for 19 bucks. Definitely a great place with a hot deal!
PGA Greens
Very nice fairways and difficult greens on this course. The course is extremely well maintained and the greens have alot of character. My only complaint is the staff is standing on some greens watering while we play and it is pretty pricey on weekends. Would definitely recommend this course if you can get it for a good price on golf now
Lots to like
Course is in great shape and is close to home. Wouldn't want to play it every week but now and then it is great.
Great value
The course was in great condition. The fairways were smooth, the greens were challenging, and the overall layout was perfect.
Fun Greens
Everything is set up to where on or around the green you land. Very unique for this area. The greens have several tiers with the short grass on certain sides of the green that are run-offs that gives you a choice of putting or chipping to the hole should you land in these areas. Fairways are in excellent shape. I highly recommend this course if you are looking for a different challenge, or you are just looking to play a good course that is fun to play.
Good course, below Average service
Course was in good shape. For a Saturday afternoon the lack of staffing/marshaling led to single golfers playing in between groups if two/three. Completely unnecessary on a busy Saturday afternoon. We started around 10-15 minutes late. Beverage service on the course stopped around 3pm, unfortunate because it was very hot and busy on the course. Pro shop staff were found in the bar area, quite unprofessional.
Fun Place to Play
Played in early June. The course was in by far the best condition of any public course or private(played St. Albans in mid May) I had played at that point in the season. This course is challenging but isn't punitive. I appreciate that there's a good chance that I will find my ball if I have an errant drive. The course layout is really nice. The only downside to this course is that there isn't any shade. So I would recommend not to play here during a typical sultry St. Louis summer day.
Friendlyy staff
Course conditions were good, pace of play was good and the staff were friendly.
Landings
pleasant course to play - not too challenging.
green fee structure is a little high for this type of course.
