Candler Hills Golf Club

After reading the reviews on this course we decided to play. We were greeted at the unload area and for the rest of the day everyone was very friendly. The course was in excellent condition with both the fairways and greens lush and true.
For the money this should definitely be one of your choices in Ocala for golf.

As usual, the course was in pretty good shape. Except for the greens. Although, normally I like faster greens. These were like putting on glass. Way to fast for the average golfer. The Ocala open is over. Bring them back to more reasonable speeds. We paid $56 on a hot deal. Despite the excellent conditions. That's way too much for this course. The course normally charges 75-$90 to play there. Definitely not worth that. I guess the snowbird crowd will pay that and be satisfied, but I'm not in that group. Sometimes I think they want the general public to play there, but don't really care if they do.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. First time playing and we were paired up with a wonderful couple that really helped us with course knowledge. Course was in great shape. Greens were challenging but fair. Layout was great and the front 9 par fives are beasts. Would love to play this course again next time I am up that way.

Late afternoon tee time due to earlier tournament. 4-some in front of us was very slow and we had to speed up our play to finish by sunset.
Course in very good condition, fast greens, a lot of roll on the fairways.

Just a real disappointment with how beautiful the course is. 5 hour round golf just is not acceptable. I was playing with a resident who lives there and he got so frustrated that he went home after 9 holes. If I was a member I would have done the same thing. They need to do a much better job with keeping the pace up. Just a miserable day when your constantly waiting. We were three groups deep on the seventh hole wwaiting to tee off.

Everything was good from drop off of clubs to playing our round. First the starter was great, it was nice to hear him say don't tee off until group in front is walking off green. we didn't wait on a hole until number 17, but i think the group in front was playing for money and they went off green to spot and chipped to hole. Tee boxes were in great condition, there was 2 or 3 greens that need some help, but pins were in area that was good. We played the week in front of the Candler Open Will play after to see if course stays up to Par. As far as the Price they wanted 95 dollars plus tax book through pro shop. I booked it on line and got it for 65 dollars. This golf course is a 65 to 75 dollars It took us 4 hours 15 minutes to play ( Awesome )

I caught the hot deal for $55. The course was in outstanding shape, from tee to greens. The fairways were plush. Last year they got a little thin. Nice thick (dense) turf this year
though. As much as I enjoy this course. It's just not worth $50 +. I guess this time of year you can get 80-$90 to fill up the daily t-sheet. But other than being in pristine shape. The course just isn't worth the 💰. I'll be back though.

course was in a little rougher shape then normal, greens were long and bumpy and did not roll true . fairways were overgrown like 1st cut of rough . let’s just hope it gets better in time for the ocala open

Very nice course with fast greens. Round was somewhat ruined by several unfair pin placements. About 14 of 18 pins were tucked in inaccessible corners with several placed on the side of a slope where ball would not stop within 10 feet of pin. Really not necessary with greens this good and fast. Also, starter was pretty dour.

The first hole was an indication of how the course would be. It was like an orange peel surface magnified. Fairways were so so with sparse grass

First chance to golf since November - highly recommend.
