Eagles golf course
Have always enjoyed playing the Eagles golf course. The course is always in good shape.
Not worth the money
Took my dad to play the Lake course today. We played the Forest course yesterday. I’ve got to say how terrible the greens were on the front nine. To charge someone $42 per 9 holes to play a course in this crappy shape is a rip off. There was no option to putt for any chance of a good score. 3 of 9 holes were somewhat puttable if you were close to the flag. Extremely disappointed in the staff for not tell me in the clubhouse how bad it was. I would have just played the Forest course instead. To tell you how bad it was, we played 8 holes and no one was on the course behind us. I guess they knew the conditions of the greens. A decision to close the Lakes should be considered to fix all the greens. Not try to patch them. I’m the mean time lower the price if you put people on the Lakes.
Greens are in shambles.
I love this course and play probably 20x a year here. Currently the greens are rougher than I've ever seen. No mention of this when booking or paying. I'm not sure if the forest side is any better right now. As soon as the get the greens and tees up to snuff it will be well worth the money again. No sign of bev cart the entire round either.
Tee Box or Sand Trap…can’t tell the difference.
The good: we as a 2-some teed off on-time at 8:15a and finished in 4:10 (if you’ve played here, you know this is a miracle). Props to the 3-some in front of us that played quick. Always a fun track/layout.
The bad: the course was in ROUGH shape. 50% of the greens were basically dirt/mud or fresh sod patchworks (which we conveniently weren’t told about until after we checked in and paid), putting was nearly impossible. And 75% of the tee boxes were basically dirt/sand with no grass at all. Absolutely unacceptable.
The fact they have the nerve to charge $75/round for that is a travesty. We had played there just over a month ago and it wasn’t nearly this bad. Won’t be going back until conditions improve.
very poor conditions, borderline unplayable from the tee boxes to the greens
This course should be closed for renovation....AVOID
Conditions here are sad at best. 4 or 5 greens were simply not playable. Sad to see what this owner and manager has done to this once nice course.
Fun Layout, Poor Conditions
They’re working to regrow sections of the greens, but roughly a third of the greens are unplayable at this point. A few of the tee boxes were mostly sand, which also took away from the experience. A few groups turned around on the front nine to go play the Forest course due to the condition of the greens on the Lakes course.
DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE
Beyond terrible conditions, course should be closed and major renovations done! Worst course in Tampa area by far, and I’ve played a lot of them.
It is definitely not worth it for the money they charge. The greens were in terrible condition on almost every whole.
Eagles - Trouble on the greens.
I’ve played here before, normally in great shape. This time around, not so much. The course was in rough shape, especially the greens. I’ve played it in great condition so I know the potential. The golf carts seem to be downgraded as well. I’ve played there when the golf carts had GPS, now they don’t have them? If I had known about the greens, I probably wouldn’t have booked. $60 for a course with pits and holes on the greens is terrible value.
Greens were in terrible condition which was sad cause the forest course was excellent 2 weeks ago. Way over priced for the condition of the course.
Course is what you pay for
Almost every green has patches of sand and missing grass. Don’t bother reading a putt. Now I see why it was $35 after 3pm.
The lakes is a well layout course, my concerns on the day were the greens. They were not good at all. It was probably 1 in every 5 holes that were good quality. The greens were very patchy but I can see the potential in the course.
I will probably go again to see if there is any improvements.
Do not play here
$90 for this course is honestly insane. I wouldn’t play here again even if it was $20. The greens were non existent on most holes, just dirt and sand patches, tee boxes are basically sand or uncut grass that’s very uneven. Potentially the worst course in Tampa and $90.
Course needs work
The only bright spot out here is really the bunkers and the layout. Raked and taken care of accordingly for the bunkers. The layout is good and can be tough with some trees and doglegs. But the fairways and greens are miserable. This one needs some work. As an avid golfer I wouldn’t try again out here for a while.
Greens Burned
Fairways good, tee boxes OK, greens have many burnt areas.
Reasonably priced
Course was okay. Once again the cool, wet Florida winter didn't do it any favors. Conditions were fair to good at best, but
the price was decent so one can't expect a TPC golf course. It is challenging but forgiveable for the most part. I would play here again!
Nice Layout, Greens need work
I paid $75 and was a little disappointed when I saw the conditions of a lot of the greens. Very patchy and not what I expect for $75. Long course and nice layout however.
