Confusing
The course kind of winds around and there were a couple of holes with temporary greens which no one informed me. Either at the Pro Shop or at the 1st tee starters box. It was a wonderful day out and my round was only 3 hours so that was good.
It could have been perfect but...
Visiting some friends treated them to a round. Not one green was playable (wet mud or dry cracked mud) and at least 2 flags placed at fake fringe green (should have been all of them). Stopped scoring after hole 2. Half of the sand traps were either solid or holding 6"+ standing water. No way this was the result of one rainy New Orleans day. Nice sights. Nice day. got a lot of chipping practice in. 3 stars because not a complete disaster
OK for the price
Fairways in great condition. Greens horrible, the weather has been not cooperating. The club house and restaurant were excellent. The menu is nice food is great.
Horrid greens, moved greens, no communication
I've played here multiple times. Audubon is charging people full price for "greens" that are legitimately mostly mud/dirt. 80-90% of "greens" are this way. They also have two greens that have been moved up into the fairway. No mention of either of these at check-in. Last time I played here an entire hole was shut down so I didn't even get to play a full round. Not sure if I'll play here again.
Course in bad shape
I usually love Audubon but the course is in horrible shape as you all know… should not be charging full price.
Don’t waste your money
The course might be in the worst condition I’ve ever seen for a course that was actually open. The greens had no grass on them. Literally none. It was mud and moss on every single green. Such a shame becuase the course is in a beautiful area. But this course shouldn’t cost $10 to play in the shape it’s in, let alone 40 to walk and 65 to ride. Absolutely absurd.
Terible Shape
Greens are devoid of grass and sand traps are devoid of sand. Twice I have hit into the traps with one ball bouncing sky high and landing on the green and other bouncing 30 yards off to the left of the green. They have actual cement in the sand traps.
Looks to me as if the greens keeper mix the wrong batch of something, Can't see how you can lose all 18 greens in the exact same manner.
Fairways and surrounds are fine so there's that.
Poor, un-playable greens
Greens were not playable. Hard packed muddy greens full of divots. No sand in bunkers were also hard as concrete. Would recommend playing another course in the area. Not worth the $45 green fee.
Great Potential, Needs Attention to Detail
I've played this coarse several times. Playing tomorrow
with a friend of mine who won a 4-some at a blind auction.
I'm hearing that the greens are in horrible condition. They were not so good last time I played. ALSO, the SAND TRAPS are no more than concrete pits. I destroyed a sand wedge last time there. When I hit in a sand trap, I now elect to take a free drop rather than hit out of the concrete pit with a very thin layer of sand.
Why don't they spend a little $ and buy some sand and maintain this place.
The coarse has a beautiful layout and is very scenic in Audubon Park. SOOOO MUCH POTENTIAL
Great potential spoiled by diseased greens
Fun track with a nice variety of holes. Sadly 10 of 18 greens were bald from fungus infestation. 4 greens had some grass and the remaining 4 greens were about 50 percent covered. None were really puttable. I don't think the greens can be saved.
Beautiful course in the middle of nature
Not only was this course beautiful it is surrounded by so many types of birds-ducks, swans, just awesome. I had a great time even though I sent many balls for a swim!
Greens were horrible
Worst shape that I’ve ever seen the course. Been playing here for years and always enjoy that it’s in perfect shape. That was certainly not the case yesterday. I would highly not recommend the course right now until the greens are corrected
Facts on Audubon
When the new course opened after Katrina it was a real
Pleasure to play. Course was well
Maintained and fun to play, Lately it seems to have fallen down a bit. This is evident by the condition of the greens and sand traps. I think it’d be better to just eliminate traps and devote more care to greens. Most greens seem to be shed of any grass and are mostly firm mud. The course is a needed facility for the area and deserves proper attention to keep it up as a expected for a trail course
Thank you
Nola’s finest
Fun little course. Good place to feel good about your game, greens could use some work. But a beautiful place right down town.
Average Municipal Course
Audubon is a short municipal course with difficult maintenance issues resulting from touch weather conditions. Several of the tee boxes have practice mats where the turf has worn out. The greens are average. Overall, it’s an attractive layout with some fun holes.
Audubon greens
Greens are in bad shape. Putting is like putting on cement.
Thank yo for the rating! Glad yo enjoyed our course!
