Second Time Is A Charm
This was my second round at Lakota Canyon with the first being last year about this same time.
The early spring season in the Rockies can be hit or miss, but this weather held and the course was in excellent shape for this time of year.
The greens were soft and a bit slower than normal which was due to the allowance of early season growth. That was fine with us since it was our first outing of the new season.
The outside staff was friendly, but the inside guy was a bit unwelcoming probably due to us playing with a Golf Now discount of only $27 each (with a cart). But his dour attitude didn't deter us from enjoying our first outing.
The first time I played, I took the (bad) advice about playing from the tips in order to enjoy a better view. Well, this time we played from the blue tees and enjoyed the view just as much without the hassle of an additional 100' vertical climb and ascent from black tee boxes. Plus, the blue tees were much more enjoyable and favorable to our game at this early time in the season.
The course is building a new clubhouse which should make the overall experience much more enjoyable and easier to complete the full day. Currently, one must register at one location, then drive up the hill to the course. The new clubhouse will have a great view and add much to the overall satisfaction of this fun venue.
I can hardily recommend this course as a fun, yet challenging course for the decent golfer.
Western Colorado Treasure
Hadn't played the course in over a decade, and it has aged well. Wonderful conditions (both course and weather) for mid-November, plus a great tee time deal. Several tee options, and course layout provides multiple ways to play most holes. I won't wait another 10 years to play it again.
best golf course ever!!!
This golf course is best!!!!
5 and a half hours for a single person to play a round
Nice course, overall great value but went by myself and it took 5 and a half hours to play a round. Super slow and no etiquette players on that course.
Awesome day at Lakota Links
This was an outstanding day at Lakota Links. Outstanding scenery and a phenomenal course design.
The greens were in perfect shape and putted consistent and true.
My wife and I finished in just over 3 hours. We caught a 4-some on the back, but they let us play through.
The only downside was there were lots of grasshoppers everywhere, but there has been a lot of rain this year.
We will recommend to others and be back.
Fun course
Neat out of the way course that is worth going to. Course goes up the valley for the front nine, down for back nine. 17 fun holes and one that needs to be redone (18). Fairways and greens were in great shape. Lots of bowled fairways and greens. People at the course were friendly and appreciative that came to play the course. Course would not be walkable.
Great Course, no OB or hazard markers
The course was in great shape compared to how it was a couple years ago. I was a little disappointed there were no hazard or OB stakes. Just used our discretion.
Rain out
It rained all day so we had to get a pass to play another day. Unfortunately we are from Denver and couldn't get money back as we used Golf Pass.
Beautiful Course
This course was breathtaking and made you think or your next shot… absolutely loved it
