Willows Run Golf Club - Coyote Creek Course

About
Willows Run Golf Club in Redmond offers four courses: two championship 18-hole links courses, a family-friendly par 3, and an 18-hole putting course. There is something for every golfer at Willows Run no matter what skill level. Coyote Creek is one of the championship courses. The par-72 layout is 6,344 yards from the back tees. The golf course has a classic links design that is mostly straightforward but you can still expect some challenges, especially with water coming into play on nearly every hole. There are a few strategically placed bunkers as well as some rough. You'll also face the occasional dogleg. With the terrain being mostly flat, the terrain is easily walkable. The course is approachable for beginners but the nine-hole, par-3 and the putting courses are also good options for new players.

Horrible conditions, overpriced, and rude staff
I would give this zero stars if I could. Do yourself a favor and play somewhere else. I used to play here every once in a while, but stopped coming a few years back because the conditions were always horrible, pace of play was bad as well, green fees were extremely overpriced and staff was always rude. I decided to play today because my buddy called the clubhouse this morning, and he was told that the greens would be good because they Cover them overnight. I ended up calling it quits after 9 holes because the greens were frozen solid and the balls were flying 20 feet in the air after landing on them. I wasn’t too surprised considering the temperature today, but we only came out because the clubhouse told us the greens would be okay, so I decided to ask for a 9 hole refund or rain check. This younger British guy with long brown hair and glasses was unnecessarily rude. I would’ve had no problem if he just said “no“, but instead he went on an entire spiel about how I should’ve known the conditions were going to be this way, that I knew what the temperature was like before I came out, and that they couldn’t control the weather. Classic British sarcasm. I called him out on his attitude, but he doubled down and kept repeating himself. I was reminded right away why I stopped coming here - nothings changed over the years despite all the money they probably made from all the Covid golfers. Never coming back.
Mudder
Slogged through the mud. Balls plugged in almost every hole. I will not go back until July.
Lots of Maintenance Needed
Terrible course maintenance. Grass along fairways poorly maintained. Several in our foursome lost balls along fairways. mCold plainly see where ball landed and could not find since grass was long. Could not believe it. Also could not take carts off paths. I think this further slowed play. Lots to improve and disappointed.
Late twilight round
I teed off at 5:30pm with a gentleman and his two young daughters who were just along for the ride and to learn about golf course etiquette. That was nice to see and be around.
The course was in good shape, not pristine, but still really good, although the greens were a little beat up from the group in front of us. Pretty much what you’d expect at the end of the day.
The staff was really friendly and helpful. The starter was great and a real pro.
The pace of play could have been better, the group in front of us fell about a hole and a half behind this ladies threesome who were really moving. We finished the round in under 4 hours, but it was starting to get hard to see by 18 and there was 2 groups behind us waiting on that slow group in front of us.
Overall a good experience.
Freshly Punched greens without notice
Rolled up to the course without notice of the punched greens until i was checking in. Typically we like both courses at Willows Run. However, today was irritating because I had booked my tee time for our foursome on Wednesday and got my standard email confirmation. There was not one word about the freshly punched greens on all 36 holes. They were punched last weekend. We would have had played somewhere else had we known before check in. Not sure if its Willows fault or GolfNow.
Great Value
I played Redmond Ridge the previous week and the course was in terrible shape. Willows was in twice as good a shape as Redmond Ridge for half the price.
This course was a huge disappointment
I have heard great things about Willows Run. It was a huge disappointment. For $65, I have played municipal courses in Everett that are better for half the price. The turf is is terrible shape, the pins are placed on slopes throughout. I’m not coming back here again any time soon.
Marshals need to get more aggressive
Very slow group in front of us. Marshals needed to explain “ready” golf to them. Regardless of your skill level, everyone can play reasonably fast.
Willows Run Coyote
I play this course quite frequently. The course was in great shape! The greens were as good as I've seen them in the last 5 years. I'm also glad to see that the rough has been cut down some, to help people find their ball faster, to keep the pace of play up. We were able to get around faster than usual, even though there were alot of people on the course. Staff is always great, and I enjoy hanging out on the deck after the round.
Too slow
We gave up after nine because the pace of play was unbearable.
Best Shape in Years
I am a member of the men's club at Willows and with the dry weather we have had in the last five weeks the courses at Willows are nearing the middle of the summer conditions. I have played here five times in the last two weeks. Joining the men's club is an absolute no-brainer and pays for its self in just a few rounds. This is with the 25% off food in the restaurant and all-day happy hour. They serve breakfast until 1:00 pm daily and their food is very good!!
good round
the course is always nice when ita dry - the green is well mentained --- just dont play when ita raining (we are in seattle , lol )
oh well ... i liove playing at willows !
Too wet
This course is very good when it's dry, but it is not good when this course is wet.
niceround
Great condition, a big soggy but that was expected.
