Kingussie Golf Club
About
Kingussie Golf Club was established in 1891. In 1908, Kingussie sought the advice of Harry Vardon and extended the course to 18 holes. While some improvements and modifications have been made, the golf course is still very much as it was - Highland golf at its best.
Kingussie offers moderately easy walking on upland terrain, with a few short climbs at the fourth and eighth holes. In general, the fairways are of a generous nature, but the golf course is deceptive and position off the tee is an important consideration.
Kingussie Golf Club's signature hole is No. 4. Although only 475 yards long, the par-5 hole is deceptively difficult. It is the only par-5 hole on the 18-hole course, which measures 5,615 yards from the white tees. Par is 68.

Great wee course
Tried this course on way to Dornoch. Well worth a visit. Also offer a doubler with Boat of Garten
Another great round of golf at Kingussie Golf Club
A fantastic and beautiful golf course with stunning views of the Cairngorms. The green were in excellent condition and so were the fairways. Very good tee boxes. Course is very well looked after. Very welcoming and friendly location. I can’t wait for a return trip.
Spectacular
You must play this course. Fantastic condition with spectacular views.
KGC
Truly a hidden gem. Great views. Interesting holes and wonderful value. Highly recommended
Course excellent
Course is in excellent condition, greens are pure & fast. Love playing here when on holiday in highlands. Even saw some wild life, a beautiful stag near the par 3 10th.
Course has good variety of holes short.long.uphill.downhill.doglegs.
Spectacular scenery and wildlife. Not to demanding a walk.
Will definitely return and would recommend to anybody.
Kingussie
A terrific course. Holes 8-18 were especially good. It makes good use of the natural contours and trees lining the holes make it an interesting challenge. Elevated tee positions make driving fun and the par threes are especially well set up. The pro was friendly and the course well-maintained. Next time I’m in the highlands I’ll be back for another visit.
Unique
My wife and I played here after a drive up from Edinburgh on the way up to Dornoch. The starter was very friendly and gave us some advice but did mention it might be a bit slow as there was a competition on and a large visiting group.
This proved to be correct with up to 3 groups waiting on the par 3s, which wasn't great for keeping warmed up but we all had a great bit of banter and enjoyed the views.
The course itself is in great condition, with the greens being perhaps a smidge slower than I am used to. The layout was a delight with something different going on on most holes and really keeping up the entertainment value. As you would expect, the views were fantastic.
The course is a bit hilly, with my Garmin telling me I climbed 86 flights of stairs by the end but neither the wife or I felt it was an issue and did make for some fantastic par 3 holes.
We can't wait to go back.
Hidden Gem
Fantastic golf course. Lots of different length holes. Full of challenge. High quality turf, great to hit off. Good greens. The scenery is amazing - clear views of the Cairngorms all around. There are some real memorable holes - 7th and 15th. Lots of tree growth in recent years as made the course much tighter than it used to be.
A gem in the Scottish Highlands
A lovely course surrounded by breathtaking scenery. One I try to play whenever in the area. An interesting course where thinking about placement is as important as length of shot.
Sunny day in May
Played on a sunny Thursday in May and the course was in fantastic knick, a little bit here and there to complete but it did not obstruct the round, at 1:30pm we had the course all for ourself, so a nice gentle walk and relax. Played here many times and would definitely recommended as a course must play, lot of challenges and few really good par 3 holes.
Picturesque hidden gem
Very good course and a tricky test course condition very good greens almost there still only mid may
Value for money
After such a wet start to March the course was in good condition. Work is being done on several bunkers to improve the quality going forward.
The views are great and the variety of challenges truly tests your skills.
At time of writing they had no catering available but this was only temporary.
We’ll be back.
