Edzle in the sun
Fantastic course and very open
Great condition and excellent clubhouse and food
Great course with outstanding greens
Played this course years ago before the changes. Loved it then and love it more now. Wind was about 40mph and blew the ball up the slopes on the greens! Which were the best I've played on in a long time. So was the turf. Not a bad hole on the course. The8th & 9th were a stand out on the front and it has a great finish. The deal on golf now is phenomenal. Will definitely be back.
overrated golf course
I have played here a few times with friends, I find it really overrated. The greens are at best average.
Very nice scenery. But I think if your visiting Angus there are much better course by the sea. Carnoustie and Montrose are both great.
Highland Swing
We played a really enjoyable18 holes on a very pleasant Monday afternoon. The staff were very welcoming and we managed to tee off a few minutes early. Condition of course was excellent and we really enjoyed the variety of the holes. We will be back for another round soon.
Lovely parkland setting
Really enjoyed our afternoon at Edzell. We ate lunch at the Tweedie cafe in the village, which set us up comfortably for the round. Edzell is a relatively long course so be prepared and fuel up! The setting is beautiful, right in the foothills of the Grampians. The holes skirting the river and the woods were a treat. The visitor changing room facilities were also well appointed and we freshened up before enjoying a drink and a small bite on the terrace. Would happily recommend to any golfer staying in Angus or Aberdeenshire as a challenging alternative to the links courses nearby.
Beautiful views and nice clubhouse
If you want a stroll around a fairly flat parkland course with some great views and enjoy clubhouse facilities then this is the place to go. The course layout is largely forgettable with wide fairways and mainly straight holes especially on the outward 9. The back 9 have a little more challenge including one significantly high green with bunkers on the way and all round the base.
The course is a decent test
Although on winter tees, summer greens and at this time of year for an inland course that’s as good as it gets.
Course in decent condition and will definitely return. Pro was very helpful and pleasant as were the bar / catering staff.
All in all a great day
I had not played at Edzell for 20 odd years and my son for 10. Lovely course, good condition, greens very nice. Clubhouse food and set up was great. Loved it!
Lovely course, well worth a visit.
The course is well looked after and the holes varied, interesting and requires some thought to miss the bunkers. Staff very friendly and welcoming.
Great course even in winter
The course was undergoing significant maintenance work and the winter Tees were in operation when we played but the price was competitive. This and the fact that course is interesting made this great value for money.
Hidden gem
This course was a joy to play - beautiful setting - hard to think of a bad hole. It was in excellent condition. Only point to consider was the fact that there were some blind drives, making a study of the plan of the course advisable if you want to avoid some well-positioned bunkers off the tee.
Frequently the message "Visitors welcome" relates only to the income generated. Edzell does really welcome visitors.
Great course
Really enjoyed edzell from the pro shop to the clubhouse to the course, fantastic. Would definatley return again
Edzell Sunday
Played course on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Always enjoyed playing Edzell and the quality of the both the greens/fairways only added to this enjoyment. The course is both challenging and fun - it is suitable for all level of golfer.
Great staff
One of the best course in angus apart from my course Carnoustie would play again
