Alloa Golf Club
About
Golf course architect James Braid designed a 6,266-yard par 71 course on the 150 acres of rolling parkland beneath the Ochil Hills that are Alloa Golf Club's home. A test for even the most seasoned golfer, Alloa also accommodates high handicappers.
All golfers will enjoy the final four holes: two long par 3s split by two long and extremely challenging par 4s. Make sure to keep an eye out for the ditch in front of the 17^th green.
Alloa Golf Club dates back to 1935. It was built on the estate of Schawpark House. One of the most influential families in medieval Scotland, the Schaws were governors of Stirling Castle until the reign of James IV.
Facilities at the club include a locker room, snooker and a dining room with a lounge bar and large flat screen television. There are also several practice areas.

Weather and locals spoil the round
Heavy fog and winter greens reduced the playability of the course. Course very quiet but held up behind a slow threeball who refused to let single through. Added 40 mins to the round. Poor etiquette. Overall not the best experience but could be a one off. Generally a good course.
Good golf course
Very friendly welcome, excellent value for money, lovely course with stunning scenery. Well worth a visit.
Course in good condition considering the rain we have had .We all had a good day
The greens are the worst av played this year
Good points
Played this course yesterday, the course layout is good with some cracking holes, pace of play was good, never used the club house so can’t comment on that
Bad points
The greens are horrendous hardly any grass on them, all bumpy and your ball was just plugging on them if you came down with any hight in your shot, the fairway grass was as long as the first cut should be,so all in all won’t be back here unless drastic changes are made!!!
Good Braid Course
The course was beautifully greened up after the long brown spell, with smooth greens and grassy fairways. Some bunkers and some tees are under the weather, but this is a scenic, rolling, beautiful parkland (Scottish) course.
Lovely parkland course
Played here today, course was in mostly good condition, some bare patches, but understandable after the recent weather.
Layout is very good, tricky but fair course.
Don't agree with stroke index, but this is probably set for white tees,
Greens and bunkers good.
Nice clubhouse, but you need to be let in by staff.
Catering and staff very good.
I would recommend this course. We plan to be back next month.
Gem of a course
This challenging course is in very good condition and has plenty of doglegs and blind holes to keep first time players guessing. The greens were good , staff helpful and I would highly recommend it to anyone
Course in great condition excellent day out had by the 3 of us. Staff very friendly can’t wait to play again
Very enjoyable round of golf
Really enjoyed our round of golf. Course in very good condition and really nice greens.
Also some stunning views overlooking the Ochil hills
Tough test due to course being very dry.
Played yesterday with my son and found it very difficult at some holes due to non receptive greens as course very dry. Enjoyed our day but very tiring with hot weather and course a bit hilly.
Staff and members were very helpful.
Course in fantastic condition good pace of play and staff very friendly
All greens look as if they have been damaged but overall we still had a great day out
4hrs 28 mins, on a Monday - longest round in 40 years of golf
First time playing Alloa. Nicely laid out course with quite a number of blind greens. Greens not in that great shape but to be fair it is early November. What spoilt the day was pace of play. I was a singleton so accept I had minimal standing but a very slow playing four ball in front of me (with no one in front of them) refused to let me through. When they lost a ball and had perfect opportunity while they looked for it they simply dropped another ball (so not playing an official competition either)
Excellent All Round
Excellent course for golfers of all levels. Well maintained and laid out making it a joy to play
Very very wet
Spiked greens very very wet
Alloa golf course
First time playing this course. Started off with a really nice looking hole which set up the day. First green was really soggy but that was the only one. The rest of the greens were in great condition for the time of year as was the whole course. Didn't use the facilities so can't comment on them. Views around the course were beautiful. Will definitely be back but probably try to do so in the height of summer months.
A Hidden Gem
A Great course to play and will certainly return in the summer when the Winter Greens are off
hidden gem
Just heard a favourable report on the course a couple of weeks ago and it lived up to that. Couldn't believe it was in such good condition after recent rain and views of the Ochils and Wallace Monument just make it. Beating my son on the 18th helped!
