Silverknowes Golf Course
About
A flat course with trees as hazards, accuracy is a must with many bunkers and the wind coming off the Forth often being a factor.
Excellent parkland golf course with magnificent views across Firth of Forth to Fife. Not a typical links course as although many holes are long and bare there are a number which are bordered by the neighbouring wood adding to the challenge.

Pretty straight but 15th is weird
Fairly straightforward course, hit it and hit it again - not too much thought required.
Rough was long, far too long. Put your ball in that and even if you find it, you can't hit it.
Greens were average, bunkers raked but under an inch was hard pack, meaning the ball flew out 30 yards.
15th hole - dog leg (at last) but just over 130 yards to the corner then a 250 yd + 2nd hit to a par 4.
You can cut the corner with a 5 wood overthe trees, but there's a ditch that traverses the fairway right on the 180-240 yard mark, so hit a perfect drive over the trees, but no idea where my ball was: short in the woods, in the ditch, in the rough?
Convenient on the Covid shutdown but won't be rushing back
Great views and course is pretty wide open
The course was wide open and provided a lot of room if you had a drive that was a little of center. A few holes on the back had some pretty high grass if you missed so be careful. The course is pretty straight and gets interesting and testy. The course is not hard for a lower handicap player, but I’m just above a 10 so it was a good test. I would love to play again when in Scotland, but lots more courses to discover.
Rather Bland
The course is fine for a knockabout if you are in the area with a few hours to spare but the holes don’t have much definition and the course in general was rather bland although it was in reasonable condition.
Good value
The course is in good condition and some lovely views from some of the tee boxes.
Only 2 buggies and some bunkers without rakes but sand ok
