Tricky day out
15 minutes from home but first time playing here and ill definitely be back. It had rained really heavily in the days beforehand but the course was still in great condition and the greens were soft but still very fast and a dream to putt on big well done to the green staff. Makes you think off the tee as though some may be shorter it's not always bomb driver . Well worth a visit
Great round of golf
Aidrie Golf Course was a really good course the holes were challenging and well laid out. The bunkers were excellent with nice fluffy sand. The Green were fast and true. I will certainly come back to play again. The 5th hole is a bit of a climb but the course flattens out and really enjoyable
Great course
Great course. Challenging but worth it. Well looked after
Worth Playing
Whilst generally used to playing longer courses, this is a well laid out mature course where you have to think about your next shot at all times.
Pro made me extremely welcome.
I' am looking forward to playing in the near future.
Perhaps one or two more dog legs than I would like.
Thoroughly enjoyed the round. A picture of the hole at every tee was most helpful as there were a few dog legs on the course. The course was in great condition. Wouldn’t hesitate to return.
Business As Usual
Same as always, excellent and demanding golf course, well maintained and superb greens. Has withstood extremely wet conditions leading up to playing my round, but remained in brilliant condition. Always a bonus when a course is nice and flat at my age so well done all staff involved, I will be back.
Tees & bunkers let it down
Greens are in great condition as is most of the course but it is seriously let down by the tees.
I did not find a single level lie on any of the 18 tees. If the ball wasn’t above or below my feet, there were so many divots my stance was all over the place. Made worse by the fact that for some reason, the tee pegs were only about 6 feet apart as opposed to the usual width of the tee.
The bunkers are ridiculous though. They’ve spend money adding some and changing others while the big problem is the sand. You can have 2 different lies within the same bunker. One is 3 inches deep of sand, a foot away, it’s barely a cm and you blade the ball. Some bunkers are white sand. Some are Sandy sand. Some are dark sand with pebbles to mark up your new wedges. It’s crazy. Pick a sand. Pick a depth. And make it consistent.
Greens take a lot of beating but bunkers & tees are horrendous.
Poor Greens
Was a member many years ago and the greens were always in good condition as they worked on them many years ago. Even last winter they were in good condition considering but not sure what has happened but there were holes which were filled in on every green. Almost like they have been vandalised. Hopefully they can get them back but course was great apart from the greens.
Played 28/9/21
Played course for first time. Lovely course with nice greens. Whilst it could be said that the course is not the longest, it has a number of dog legs and hidden greens which makes it quite challenging. As far as the course layout is concerned, any visitor should heed the explanation given by the chap in the Pro shop as you could end up driving up the wrong fairway on a couple of holes. We were fortunate that we could follow a couple of members as it may have been a little tricky to work out where the next tee was on some of the holes.
Overall, I really enjoyed the course and would play it again.
It was in fantastic condition and I loved it from start to finish.
Greens and fairways were lovely - credit to the greenkeepers.
Friendly welcome from the Pro and every member I met and great value too.
Thoroughly recommend playing Airdrie GC.
First time playing Airdrie
