Hilton Park Golf Club - The Allander Course
About
The Allander Course at Hilton Park Golf Club offers 18 holes over 5,487 yards with a 69 par, and shows off its signature hole early: The par-4 fifth hole plays to 372 yards and goes by "Burncrooks." It features a slight dog leg right toward a sunken two-tiered green protected by the Allander burn on three sides, all of which lie out of bounds, making it a tough hole.
James Braid designed the Allander Course at Hilton Park Golf Club way back in 1927 for a 1928 opening. The golf course remains mostly faithful to his vision. The only is that exception of a bit more parkland than moorland because of a recent tree-planting campaign, both to augment the golf course's character and protect the golf course from increased rainfall due to climate change.
The Allander Course at Hilton Park Golf Club is the shorter of the golf club's two golf courses, but management says that just makes it all the more attractive to low-handicap golfers and women.

Allender course review.
First time playing here, saw a great price on teeofftimes.co.uk that suited me and my mate.
Arrived to find the place heaving, it was the Senior open, but not to worry as it has two courses.
The Allender course is great, lovely parkland course, that has open fairways, but hazards for you to take notice off. Bunkers had a healthy depth of sand so played true.
Bar staff friendly at the end of the round.
Wish the course was nearer to home and not 45 minutes away. Will most assuredly be back in the future.
Only 4 stars for the course as it was a tad soggy at some points, but didn't overly detract from play.
Don't pass up playing here!
Class wee course but greens were aerated
Cracking wee course, really loved it, nice for most handicappers though plenty of blind shots but you get used to it.
Slightly gutted the greens were aerated but then assume they never told us as we wouldn't have booked.
Probably back again in better weather.
All in all recommend.
Little changed
Know the course well as used to be a member >10 years ago. Everything was absolutely fine except the member group in front never once rang a fairway free bell and anyone who knows the course knows that there are 6 bells on the front 9, more on the back 9 but by then the group had managed to move away from us because we were standing on tees waiting for bells! Maybe that was their master plan all along? Totally ignorant but then I remembered why I never much liked the place.
First time played
Found course easy to navigate good condition and for someone who has just got back to playing golf in the last few months thouroughly enjoyed it
Greens need cut
The greens were horribly slow but due to it being early in the season wasn’t that fussed as just seemed as they were yet to be trimmed for the season other than that really enjoyed the round.
Lovely
Love playing this course, fantastic condition and some lovely score-able holes,. Do prefer the front 9 though
Hilton Park
Lovely scenic parkland course.
In good condition, wild deer on the 10th!
Excellent pro shop and bar service.
Hilly and enjoyable
Played Hilton course 14/03 after and during heavy rain so cannot comment other than the green complexes looked good. Played Allander course 22/03 in dry conditions which is amazing for this time of year considering the amount of rain in recent weeks. Personally I would recommend Allander over Hilton as the holes were more memorable but can't complain with either. Solid putting greens and chipping area to brush off the cobwebs too.
Last minute game
Turned up at expected T time and was invited to play with two ball that was playing. Good company who were good for keeping me right on course layout. They left on 9th and I played on. 3 ball in front let me play through on 10th so overall a good experience
Great!
Weather was great and the course was in great shape! Staff was extremely friendly. Will be back.
