Largs day out

Excellent welcome by the club pro on arrival. He allowed us to tee off early. It started raining very heavily on the 3rd hole. The course was in beautiful condition and the greens particularly good. On the 9th hole the experience deteriorated. There was a visiting party of around 11-15 individuals playing in one 3 ball and the rest fourballs. They were loud and shouting and swearing at each other. On the 11th hole we had to wait on the tee for a full 14 minutes to tee off in the pouring rain. We called to play through this was ignored. On the 12th tee we were told aggressively we would not be getting through. We played the whole and walked in after completion. Day was ruined. We then could not enjoy the hospitality of the Bar steward Stuart Garrett and restaurant as the visiting party had a table booked in the dining area. Top avoid confrontation we ate in town.

An excellent round of winter golf

I played in early March and although there were winter tees, they were well placed and in good condition. Most of the greens were open and the few that were temporary tees were in good condition. A good course iI would be please to visit again and again.

Largs GC

Lovely course, in exceptional condition for late October. Reasonably challenging layout without being too punishing, with lots of holes that invite a great drive - a thoroughly enjoyable round of golf. The greens were the best I’ve played on this year! Definitely retuning to play again!

Come to the coast!

Golfing in the Troon courses where I play are good but when you go to a place like Largs you learn to appreciate a really well kept course.Even after all the rain we had the weekend before the course held up pretty well. The Pro was very friendly & helpful and made us feel welcome much like the man behind the bar who supplied us with nice rolls & coffee before our adventure. If only the golf had been a better quality.I’d definitely recommend this course to play anytime.Oh & yes we’ll be back at some point!

Challenging Course With Great Views

Arrived early for our round and the welcome by the clubhouse staff was warm and friendly.

Despite it being mid November the course was in good condition with full greens and preferred lies.

The course is well laid out with a good variety of holes and provides a good challenge for golfers of all standards.

Excellent course even in the wet

A thoroughly enjoyable course with varied and interesting holes. The ground for a parkland course is firm and it appears the drainage is excellent as despite some recent heavy rain there were no puddles. The greens are true and have always been superb when I’ve played there. £18 for a round represents outstanding value. Largs deserves its title as the “Ayrshire Augusta”.

Great course. Tough but fair.

The course was in immaculate conditin with stunning views across the Firth of Clyde. Ball position is critical on this great layout. Great day out. Catering was good with helpful staff on hand.
